Activities range from conserving the environmental and heritage features making up the landscape to issues as diverse as countryside apprenticeships, supporting local communities, and encouraging sustainable development. Social exclusion, education, and engaging communities in nearby conurbations with the Dales have become a real focus.

The Charity offers a range of services including: supporting unemployed local people into employment by providing advice and guidance, facilitating and providing work experience and training; business development support, including training, advice and guidance to local people considering self-employment and to community and voluntary groups looking to develop social enterprises.

Education for pupils aged 2-11 years old, providing an environment in which each child can develop their talents and aspirations encouraging them to fulfil their potential. This is achieved by providing an excellent standard of teaching, superb facilities, and a range of intellectual, cultural and physical opportunities. Our ethos is that each child should make a positive contribution to society.

The Society's principal activities are to support people with a visual impairment by providing community care and rehabilitation, residential care and housing, talking newspapers and general advice and guidance.

RESIDENTIAL AND NURSING CARE OF THE ELDERLY JEWISH POPULATION OF MERSEYSIDE AND SURROUNDING LOCAL AREA

The principal activity of the charity is the recruitment training and support of young people in apprenticeships within the employer base and a variety of government funded training initiatives are operated by the company and funded by the learning and skills council.

The Factory of Creativity is the Charity name for Hope Mill Theatre which is a small independent theatre based in a grade 2 cotton mill in Ancoats, Manchester which is an area of social deprivation. Hope Mill hopes to grow, letting in new voices and expertise, new ways to support staff, and make the theatre more financially sustainable, develop ways to nurture skills in local people, young and old

Chorley Youth Zones objects are to help and educate children and young people resident in Chorley and surrounding areas through their leisure time activities by promoting their full physical and spiritual potential in order that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society and their conditions of life may improve.

The conservation, protection, restoration and improvement of the River Wyre and surrounding area from its source to the Irish Sea including its flora and fauna for the public benefit.

To promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of the community in Lancashire and neighbouring areas; to promote, coordinate, support and develop community activities and to unite citizens of all classes irrespective of gender, religion or political opinion in the promotion of heath and social welfare.

The object of the charity is to make grants for the benefit of the public for such charitable purposes as the trustees think fit. The trustees are particularly keen to support projects in the North East of England, reaching those most disadvantaged in the region. IN ADDITION, TO PROMOTE ENTERPRISE AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES WITHIN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY THROUGH THE PROVISION OF OFFICE ACCOMMODATION AND CONFERENCING VENUES.

CancerCare is a unique local charity dedicated to helping local families affected by the impact of cancer and other life limiting conditions across North Lancashire and South Lakeland. We provide a wide range of free professional services including a number of psychological, complementary and creative therapies.

To provide, or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation in the interests of social welfare, for persons resident in the north west of England, who have the need for such facilities by reason of their learning disabilities or their social and economic circumstances, with the object of improving their conditions of life.

Presentation of concerts by Manchester Camerata and other artists in Greater Manchester, North West and throughout the United Kingdom. Provision of learning and Participation work in Greater Manchester and throughout the North West.

The principal aim of the charity is the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homingh (except for our equines and farm animals) of stray and unwanted animals. The Charity provides care and shelter for stray, neglected and unwanted animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, cows and pigs.
