The trust was originally set up in 1873 to provide education for the children of the poor of the parish of St Stephen in the Banks.

To assist the Saint Michael's High School in any way determined by the Trustees. The trust holds both General and Restricted funds, the Restricted funds are held by the Trust on behalf of sections of the school such as 'awards', 'worship' etc. The General funds may be used for any purpose for the schools as decided by the Trustees.

The Trust supports and encourages educational activities and the furtherance of the religious and other charitable work of the Church of England.

To promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of Lytham St Annes, Lancashire and the surrounding area the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life of the said inhabitants.

Assisting persons in the area of benefice (wards of Hyndburn Borough Council, Lancashire) who are either a) both sick and poor. or b)in financial need. Preference will still be given to those living in the wards of Accrington, Clayton le Moors and Altham.

Trinity PFA plays a significant role in building the community spirit of the school. We organise and raise money from a range of events and functions which are transparent, safe and well-managed, and provide an opportunity for parents and staff to work together to create a communal family. We ensure all profits are spent on improving the experiences of pupils at the school.

The Joshua Lancaster Foundation charity was formed to help children in the northwest of England whom are suffering from a cancer diagnosis. Whether that be financial support, gifts or experiences. Also working with Ward 84 at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital by supporting new avenues in improving the children's experience of their stay.

We are open 2 mornings per week to house our local outreach post office service. The youth club have a session every week as do the cubs & scouts. The WI have monthly meetings & we have domino drives & social functions whenever we can. Some parents have their children's parties also.

The Trust provides and maintains Gospel halls for the religious activities of Christians often referred to as 'Brethren'. Also supplies free of charge bibles and gospel tracts for distribution to any interested persons.

The aim of the Scout Association is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, responsible citizens and as members of their local, National & International communities

NORDEN COMMUNITY TRUST IS ACTIVELY ENGAED IN THE CONVERSION OF A FORMER MUNICIPAL BUILDING TO PROVIDE FACILITIES FOR THE USE OF THE YOUNG PEOPLE AND SENIOR CITIZENS OF OUR AREA

The charitable purposes of Parbold, Newburgh and District U3A are to advance education and in particular the education of people not in full time gainful employment who are in their Third Age, being the period of time after the first age of childhood dependence and the second age of full time employment.

To preserve, restore and operate the railway lines, together with such lands and buildings adjacentthereto in Greater Manchester and Lancashire and in particular the East Lancashire Railway line, forthe advancement of technical, historical and general education and for the permanent preservation, of steam and other railway locomotives, rolling stock, road vehicles,equipment and relics

To raise funds for extra equipment and activities for the school.

The club generally meets weekly on a Monday evening to participate in various activities which aid the development of our members who tend to have an interest in agriculture and the environment. Our motto is fun, learning and achievement. Membership age is currently 10-28 years old. The club is also affiliated to Lancashire Federation of YFC's and the National Federation - NFYFC.

This church holds a service each Sunday morning and a meeting each Wednesday lunchtime which any member of the public can attend. There is also a Sunday School at the same time as the Sunday Service, for pupils up to the age of 20 years. The church includes a Reading Room in the same building , which is open each week, Each year a free public lecture is held in Kendal.

The aim of the Unit is to provide a range of activities and adventures within a caring and disciplined environment based on the standards of the Royal Navy, to which young people can respond, and which in turn will assist in their development of self confidence, self discipline, leadership and a sense of responsibility to the community.

HERE4U provides social support to those affected by mental health. We run a variety of services dependent on peoples individual needs. Our main area we operate in is Blackpool, however we may be able to offer services in Lancashire.

The Trust has three almshouses, which are for the benefit of elderly persons of the ancient township of Whalley.
