Becconsall U3A provides educational and social activities for the retired and semi retired as defined by the University of the Third Age Trust in the areas of Hesketh Bank, Tarleton, Banks and surrounding villages.

We provide young people with opportunities to develop their confidence, self-respect and social responsibility. Life skills such as teamwork, independence and communication skills are embedded in our activities. Our goal is to inspire the next generation to realise their potential and seize a better future through nautical adventure based on the customs and traditions of the Royal Navy.

Provide housing accommodation to elderly in Nelson

Our PTFA works with our school, parents, pupils and the local community to put on a range of events and activities. These help to build the school community, break down barriers and help fund raise. We use our funds to purchase a range of goods and services that help advance the education of pupils at our school.

Involves parents and teachers organising social events to fund additional resources / equipment to support the school

Provides grants to persons connected with Liverpool and Mann, and Manchester and Warrington Area Meetings of the Society of Friends for religious and educational purposes. It provides financial support for the maintenince of some of the buildings within the two Area Meetings

The Hospital of Jesus is one branch of the Archbishop Hutton Trust. It administers four almshouses in the parish of Warton, originally established by Archbishop Matthew Hutton (born 1592), Bishop of Durham and subsequently Archbishop of York.

The Charity money is send to the homeless and disabled poor peoples.

Our group promotes and preserves the tradition of brass band music combined with encouraging the development of youngsters both as musicians and good citizens. The band caters for children between the ages of 8-20, and currently has approx 85 members.

Southport Photographic Society aims to advance the education of the public in the theory and practice of photography as an art. To further this aim the Society organises:(i) public exhibitions of photographs, photographic art and apparatus. (ii) public lectures and demonstrations of all aspects of photography. (iii) public outings to places of photograhic interest.

The income from the trust fund is payable to the following rotary clubs. Oldham 30%, Boscombe & Southbourne 30%, Bournemouth 30%, Christchurch 10%. All clubs to apply for the relief of the sick and people resident within the terratorial limits of the clubs with particular emphasis on those who are lonely or for any other charitable object.

The society continues the service it began over 30 years ago. 6 groups offer help and support in researching family history in each of the areas covered by the Society and informational talks and group meetings are offered throughout the year. 10 help desks are run in conjunction with local libraries over a 50 mile radius. A vastly improved website is now available to both members and non members.

The study, advancement,improvement development and maintenance of public education in and appreciation of the art and science of music in all its aspects including through the presentation of public concerts and recitals, paticularly choral works, both classical and modern.

To promote humane behaviour towards animals by providing appropriate care, protection, treatment and security for animals which are lost/found or stolen and are in need of care and attention with a view to reuniting them with their owners where possible and to educate the public in matters pertaining to animal welfare in general

To provide welfare services to the blind and partially sighted within the local government districts of Blackburn with Darwen, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley.

Fundraising during the year to 16th May 2013 raised 33,276 by way of donations, various fundraising events and raffles. Donations received and payable during the year amounted to 31,362

Rent-out and maintain four bungalows including the gardens for couples aged 60 years old and over.

The Trust owns and maintains Spray, a Morecambe Bay Prawner built in 1896

Management and maintenance of Yealand Village Hall which is available to all people living in the local communities.

The objectives of the Charity are to consider the application of deserving people for the purpose of improving education, training or skill and for grants to people in adversity, illness, infirmity or old age. Applications are limited to persons who were born in, or who for the last ten years have lived in, the former counties of Lancashire and Westmorland.
