To advance the education of the pupils of The Manchester Grammar School by providing facilities for the academic, sporting, cultural, recreational and outdoor pursuit activities including improvements to the school environment, and to encourage friendly relationships between staff, parents, pupils and others associated with the school.

We provide facilities in a modern building with a kitchen for many local groups. It is open to all regardless of gender, colour, race or creed.All ages are catered for ranging from a baby exercise class run by the local authority, to an over 60's group.

Boulevard Community Centre is committed to providing a prayer facility to the local community as well aseducating the public in different religious beliefs and to promote good relations between persons of different faiths; and promoting mutual understanding and respect of the beliefs and practices of different faiths.

PRESERVATION, RESTORATION & DISPLAY OF WIGAN AND SURROUNDING AREAS ROAD TRANSPORT HERITAGE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE WIDER COMMUNITY THROUGH EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Activities currently taking place at the village hall are:- Nursery, Mums and Tots, Summer Play Schemes, over 50's Bowling Club, T'ai Chi, Tunies, Pilates, Social events eg. BBQ's, Discos, Parties etc. Dance and Ballet Classes, Cheer Leaders Group. Committees meeting place.

Publication of a literary and periodical magazine called Stand which promotes literary events and makes donations to bodies with similar aims and objectives.

SCOUTING FOR YOUTH OF TOWN

Provision of a drop-in centre for older residents, Monday to Friday.Provision of premises for other community activities by arrangement

Hire of Hall, Bingo, Meetings, entertainment.The Hall is used by Keep fit, Dancing, Whist Drives, There is a stage for amateur dramatics.Once a year as a polling station, Craft Fairs, Wedding, Birthday, Anniversary Parties.

Encouraging the appreciation and study of the history of Liverpool & the immediate environs, primarily by a programme of public talks, guided walks, the publication of an annual journal & an extensive website news service to members and the wider public.

Scouting - Squirrels /Beavers / Cubs and Scout sections meetings held weekly and the follow the scout association guidelines in providing opportunities and skill development to the local children of Heysham and Morecambe.

To provide recreational facilities for the inhabitants of and visitors to the village of Hawkshead.These currently include a childrens play area with equipment suitable for children in the age range 3 to 12 years old. A full size football pitch with changing facilities. A crown green bowling facility. Two tennis courts. A general play area equipped with picnic benches and tables.

General fund raising activities and distribution thereof to appropriate causes in accordance with the policies of Lions Clubs International

1. To keep St James's Parish Hall open and avialable for Commuity use. 2. To establish the centre as a language centre and centre of excellence3. To promote Community cohesion4. To support Asian voluntary, community, faith and young groups as a Development Agency for BAME communities resident in Burnley. 5. To provide general advice sign-post customers to specialist agencies.

Provision of fundraising activities and events to raise money for Mawdesley St Peters Primary School.

UMBRELLA ORGANISATION OF THE JEWISH COMMUNITY IN MERSEYSIDE & ENVIRONS, REPRESENTS THE JEWISH COMMUNITY IN CIVIC, CULTURAL & FAITH LIFE, & ACTS AS FACILITATOR PROMOTING CO-OPERATION BETWEEN VOLUNTARY & STATUTORY AUTHORITIES. IT WORKS TO SHAPE FUTURE JEWISH LIFE ON MERSEYSIDE, FACILITATING & PROMOTING EDUCATIONAL, CULTURAL & RELIGIOUS ACTIVITY & INTERFAITH & INTER-ETHNIC UNDERSTANDING & HARMONY.

Provide grants for bell restoration and bell installation projects. Fund raising to generate funds from which we give grants.

We provide a Village Hall for the use of the local community for various activities. The Hall is currently used by many groups and individuals including karate classes, dog trainers, local and national charities, local wine circle, baby and toddler groups, dealers den markets. We also have family parties and celebrations at the Village Hall.

Make grants and loans to individuals with connection to the Jewish community in Greater Manchester.

CHARITIBLE ACTIVITIES FOR LOCAL AND ROTARY INTERNATIONAL CHARITIES

To encourage interest in local flora and fauna and social and industrial history.To maintain and operate a museum, library and lecture programme to support this.

To help relieve sickness and preserve health through the provision of expertise, equipment, financial support, facilities and services as resources permit.To support the development of a comprehensive province-wide health and social care system.To support the provision of health education, disease prevention and training in health and hygiene for staff, the general public and health workers.
