The Charity has received a large legacy payment and is managing the invested funds to support the needs of young people under the age of 16 in the West Yorkshire area that are suffering from cancer.

Relief of poverty within the Ancient Parish of Barwick in Elmet

Providing the sound and spectacle of the Pipes and Drums at community and charity events in and around Leeds.Providing free tuition for both pipes and drums.

At the monthly meeting we usually have a speaker or slide show on interesting subjects, demonstrations.. We also have outings as a group, and a monthly craft group .meeting. Members also have the opportunity to attend craft training courses organised by the Federation.

Making grants to support the public concert programme held under the auspices of the University of Leeds and the work of its art gallery.

Based at Swillington Primary School, we organise and events and activities to raise funds for the school and local community.

We raise money for children attending Westwood Primary School, support the families that attend there are the wider community. We help to provide opportunities and resources to the families and local area.

Raising funds and building the community around the school through organising: school fairs in Autumn and Summer term; movie nights and discos for pupils; evening events for parents and staff; cake sales; secret santa for pupils; seasonal greetings cards etc.

Fundraising activities in and around Barwick in Elmet Church of England Primary School, in order to provide grants, goods and services, to advance the education and create fun and lasting memories of children at the Barwick school.

Facilitates art classes, demonstrations, and practice sessions for all members of the community. Membership fees are minimal thus allowing access for the under privileged. We have many members of all ages from 18 to 95. Disabled and aged members are transported to the club by the able bodied members. Schools are invited to exhibitions where artists are available to discuss art work and media.

Encourages comradeship and fraternity of ex members of Her Majesty's Royal Navy through fellowship

The object of the Sangat is to advance the Sikh religion amongst the residents of the City of Leeds and surrounding area.

Six meditation meetings held every month in the UK. One meditation retreat held annually in Yorkshire and other retreats by request. Education of the public and members of the regiment in the history and military accomplishments of the regiment by public exhibition of the collection in a museum. Restoration, conservation, repair, reconstruction and preservation of objects in the collection.

In winter, monthly evening talks. In summer walks and visits to places with a history. Every May, a week end coach trip is taken to a different part of the country. We now have a website with pictures of old Aireborough.

As a Church/Community Organisation we engage in activities that minister to the spiritual man, our first priority. But we also give serious attention to the social, physical, mental,emotional,economical,cultural and political needs via following: welfare and mental health projects, soup kitchen, youth and children programmes,creative arts, older people services, cultural and economical activities
