Crimson Cord Ministries is a North East of England registered charity set up to assist local, national and international people and organisations in need of financial support and/or protection, help, sustenance and home shelter in times of trouble, hardship or physical danger. Fundraising for benevolent causes effecting travelling showmen and their families

Our charitys aims are to enable spinaly injured wheelchair users to come to terms with there injuries through sport and socialisation, wheelcair users without spinal injuries are welcome to join our club.

We work in partnership with similar organisations to improve government and local authority policy, including Health Care, Housing, Social Deprivation and Personal Financial issues. Our elderly volunteers give their time and energy and do all the work. We have no employees.

The City Council owns the Laing Art Gallery, which is operated on its behalf by Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums. The Laing Art Gallery utilises the funds within the John Wigham Richardson Charity to enable it to purchase pictures.
