Friends of Freeways is a group of parents and relatives of those using Freeways' services which aims to provide mutual support for each other and to provide funds to supplement extra amenities for residents which includes giving gifts to the residents at Christmas time to be spent collectively on items or activities as well as arranging comedy shows at Leigh Court.

Provide funds to schools

Raising funds generally from the members of the Lodge to support The Grand Lodge of England' s 4 Main Charities and local Non Masonic Charities in Somerset.

Grants to parishioners who are ill/elderly. Particularly at Christmas time.

Bristol Festivals works with and supports, other charities and organisations in the city of Bristol who organise and produce Festivals or Cultural Events which advance the arts, culture, heritage, science and amateur sport to support them to become more effective and efficient for the benefit of the public.

The Backwell Educational Foundation provides small grants to young people under the age of 20, who live in the civil parishes of Backwell and Brockley, and who may be planning an educational project and need financial support.

Promotion of religious education in accordance with the principles & doctrine of the Church of England by means of Sunday Schools or in such other ways as most trustees think fit.

The charity supports students attending the secondary phase Academies in Weston-super-Mare by providing grants for Humanities based field trips/visits covering historical, archeological, geographical, conservation and environment curriculum study or projects.

Improving the wellbeing of the elderly

Group for people with learning disabilities and their families.Meeting once a month for Mass and a few outings each year.

The charity helps people of all ages who need financial support due to "poverty, hardship or distress". The charity has limited funds and is only able to give out small grants to successful applicants.

Previously fundraising events including ladies fashion evenings, summer fairs, BBQ's collection days, quiz nights.Currently inactive.

To provide or assist in the provision of educational, recreational or other leisure time facilities for young people who by reason of their youth economic or social circumstances are in need of such facilities with the object of improving their conditions or life and their physical mental and moral improvement.

School for Deaf Children

To take into care stray, abandoned, unwanted (by their present owners) or needy cats within a 25 miles radius of the centre of Bristol and to spay or castrate any cats coming into care before re-homing. To offer the highest standards of care, including warm & safe purpose built accommodation.

Initially we will transform 6 acres of wetland and Alder carr into a nature reserve. We will fix fences, plant hedges and trees, survey for biodiversity and do pond dipping. We will excavate new ponds and remove invading scrub. We will acquire additional land to establish new nature reserves as opportunities arise.
