To further or benefit the residents of Newton & Bywell and the neighbourhood, without distinction by associating together residents and the local authorities, voluntary or other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents.

Cappella Newcastle (founded in 1960 as Cappella Novocastriensis), specialises in singing music for worship and often sings unaccompanied. Cappella sings in churches throughout the North East, as well as giving several major concerts each year. The repertoire is varied and ambitious, ranging from English renaissance composers to contemporary works by Whitacre and Jackson.

We hold several events to raise funds during the year, which include school discos, bingo evenings, Christmas fair, summer fete and talent contest.These enable us to donate money to school funds for specific items and events.

Run a Scout Group for young people 6 - 25 years with the aim of developing their physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual character. We also administer an activity centre in rural Northumberland, which is let to Scout groups and other youth organisations, giving children from Tyneside conurbation and further afield the opportunity to sample life in the country

Offers opportunities for Artists of all levels to display and sell own work to the general public.The centre offers art tuition to the general public. It also passes on information relevant for the visitor and tourist visiting Northumberland.

The aim of the North Northumberland Scouts is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

Provides facilities for keep fit classes and social evenings for the elderly. Facilities are also provided to local community groups such as ladies club, flower club, whist drive and dance classes.

Giving grants to widows and widowers of deceased anglican clergy in the diocese of Newcastle Upon Tyne.

To assist charities and individuals in the Hexham and Hexhamshire areas

To provide and maintain a village hall/community centre for the residents of Stonehaugh and the surrounding area which is roughly thought of as the Wark Parish boundary. The hall is used for social and educational puposes and is available for hire.

A NON-POLITICAL, NON-SECTARIAN CHOIR WHO SEEK TO INTEREST THE PUBLIC IN THE ART OF SINGING BY PARTICIPATING AND ASSISTING IN CONCERTS AND SIMILAR ACTIVITIES. THROUGH THESE ACTIVITIES THE CHOIR IS ALSO ABLE, ON OCCASIONS, TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT TO A NUMBER OF LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL CHARITABLE ORGANISATIONS.

Managing a Village Hall facility for the use of the local community

To enable people from the mid Northumberland area to come together to sing a wide range of Choral Music and to perform that Choral Music to communities large and small throughout Northumberland.

Classes, both teaching and social, throughout the area for all ages and abilities. Competative festival annually. Demonstration team available. Many social functions. Teachers available for schools, clubs & societies who would like taster sessions or classes.

What a Wonderful World is based in Alnwick and its activities reach people across Northumberland. We ran a Climate Action Day in October 2021 in the run up to Cop26 and a full weekend festival of arts, science and the natural world in June 2022, June 2023 and June 2024 Planning is underway for a 4th festival June 27-29th 2025.

Provides positive, stimulating and enjoyable out-of-school activities for all 6 to 13 year olds resident or at school in the Seaton Valley wards of Northumberland which is an area with no other activities available but does have a high level of anti-social behaviour especially related to alcohol and drug misuse. The HI seeks to offer diversionary activities to challenge this behaviour.

To carry out the wishes of the late Mrs Joyce Brewis, in supporting charitable causes as the trustees, in their absolute discretion, see fit.
