The Trustee may relieve those eligible by making grants, paying for or providing goods or services or making grants to other persons or bodies who provide such goods, services or facilities.In exceptional circumstances the trustee may decide to assist someone (who must otherwise be qualified) who is resident outside the area of benefit or only temporory resident in the area of benefit.

Swarland Village Hall is held in trust for use by the community of Swarland and its environs in the county of Northumberland, without distinction of political, religious or other opinions including use for meetings, lectures and classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of benefiting the said inhabitants.

The band's rehearsals are weekly. It performs at many local functions, charity events and contests. The band organizes concerts and festivals to which celebrity musicians are invited to perform. The band provides individual and group tuition for members and runs a Junior Band for this purpose. Each year junior members are encouraged to take part in the International Brass Band Summer School.

The Charity makes financial grants to organisations in furtherance of the education and training of young people and children within the Northumberland, North Tyneside and Newcastle upon Tyne local authority areas.

An adult mixed choir about 60 strong,mainly classical repertoire,1or 2 main concerts with orchestra p.a.+ some for charity. Non-auditioning, and aims to educate & develop musical skills

Fundraising events and activities to support the continuing existence of our Village Hall for the enjoyment and use by residents of the parish of Rock and Rennington. Promotion of hall room hire for activities which benefit the local community and/or provide income to cover essential service and maintenance costs according to the terms of the lease.

The object of the charity is the support of the French Mission known as the 'Mission Populaire Evangelique de France' and its branch for children and youth, 'Soleil et Sante', and to develop ecumenical fellowship between British and French Christians endeavouring to relate the church to industry and industrial communities.

To carry out the wishes of the late Mrs Joyce Brewis, in supporting charitable causes as the trustees, in their absolute discretion, see fit. In addition to her will creating the trust, Mrs Brewis expressed her wish that the trustees consider supporting 10 specific charities, including:Cancer Research UKBritish Heart FoundationThe Save the Children FundThe Sir Bobby Robson Foundation

Provide a recreational and functional facility for all the groups and organisations within the local area.

Promotes concerts and workshops

A NON-POLITICAL, NON-SECTARIAN CHOIR WHO SEEK TO INTEREST THE PUBLIC IN THE ART OF SINGING BY PARTICIPATING AND ASSISTING IN CONCERTS AND SIMILAR ACTIVITIES. THROUGH THESE ACTIVITIES THE CHOIR IS ALSO ABLE, ON OCCASIONS, TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT TO A NUMBER OF LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL CHARITABLE ORGANISATIONS.

To promote the Christian message in Bedlingtonshire, provide weekly outreach via a coffee morning, craft group, and a place for other groups to meet. The charity supports other Christian and non Christian organisations. Dec 2011 launched the Matthew Project an outreach to the local area providing food parcel support via referrals from statutory agencies..

To further the study, practice and enjoyment of brass band music in all its forms in order to advance the education and appreciation of the public in the art of brass band music through public performance, training and education in the county of Northumberland and the surrounding area.

Assisting asylum seekers in Northumberland with the processing of their claims. This involves advice sessions given in partnership with the British Red Cross.Ensuring that asylum seeker children are registered for schools.Keeping in touch with our service users (SUs),through drop-ins, telephone, or personal contact.In a developing way, assisting with needs.Advocating. And much more.

To participate in acting, singing and dancing and put on a yearly show for the local community in the October half term.

Learning disabilitys.

We hold several events to raise funds during the year, which include school discos, bingo evenings, Christmas fair, summer fete and talent contest.These enable us to donate money to school funds for specific items and events.

The aim of the Parish Hall Trust is to manage the day to day running of the Parish Hall and maintaining the integrity of the building so that it is fit for the purpose of hiring to local activity groups and for private hire by the public. The trust are responsible for collecting hire charges and arranging fund raising events to supply the income necessary for the day to day running costs.

To advance education in the art of folk music in all its forms primarily amongst young people in southwest County Durham, by providing workshops, masterclasses and opportunities to perform and, for the public benefit, to promote knowledge and appreciation of folk music through performances, concerts and festivals..
