The Methodist Church was created after John Wesley's conversion on 24/5/1738. The Charity is an Almshouse which provides 101 properties for occupation by older people in Bishop Auckland, Darlington, Durham and Jarrow.

The aims of Praxis are to promote and advance the social welfare and housing needs of people who are poor, suffering or recovering from mental health illness, alcoholism or chemical addictions, by providing advice, treatment and support through the provision of both community services and the develpoment and management of housing schemes intended to provide accommodation for homeless people.

Based in the grounds of the John Marley Centre, in Scotswood, the charity offers a wide range of activities linked to sustainability issues and improving mental health and well-being. The programmes include: educational workshops, youth groups, older peoples services, volunteering and training. The charity is involved with a range of environmental and community based projects within the area.

Provision of religious services according to the customs of the Church of England and associated, social and community focussed activities

To provide a peer led, peer delivered education and support service where people can learn from each otherTo enable connection and friendshipTo provide a focus for peer leadership, peer support and recovery orientated practice.To enable collaboration between mental health service providers and organisations that support these aims.

To relieve the suffering and improve the condition of life of persons suffering from cancer in particular but not exclusively by the provision of transport for any person or persons suffering from cancer to attend hospital appointments and/or other appointments for treatment of, therapy for and/or other rehabilitation from their illness.

To advance learning and skills including literacy, numeracy, communication skills, employability, family learning and mentoring across the North East of England.

Acorns offers a range of trauma informed support and therapeutic recovery services to address the impact of domestic abuse and violence on children, young people and families.

TO PROVIDE A COMMUNITY TRANSPORT SERVICE FOR SUCH OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE NORTH EAST AND CUMBRIA WHO ARE IN NEED OF SUCH A SERVICE BECAUSE OF AGE, SICKNESS OR DISABILITY (MENTAL OR PHYSICAL), OR POVERTY, OR BECAUSE OF A LACK OF AVAILABILITY OF ADEQUATE AND SAFE PUBLIC PASSENGER SERVICES.

TO PROMOTE INCLUSION INDEPENDENCE AND CHOICE FOR DISABLED PEOPLE

To advance the Christian religion by the provision of a house of retreat, primarily but not exclusively for members of the Churchof England who are resident in the Dioceses of Newcastle and Durham, which may also be used for any other charitable purpose which in the opinion of the trustee will maintain and strengthen the religious and educational life of its users.

The Charity acts as trustee and custodian trustee responsible for trust funds and properties held upon trust for the Diocese of Newcastle and Parochial Church Councils (PCCs) within the Diocese.

The Trust raises funds from individual donors, trust and foundations to support North East Museums achieve it's strategic vision of ensuring everyone has access to museum provision, are able to use this access and to value it for the significant and positive impact that it makes upon their lives.

Grant Giving

To promote the teachings of the Buddha (Buddha Sasana) by:a) Providing, maintaining and supporting in accordance with the principles of the Theravada Vinaya, residential establishments for a Monastic Sangha of persons who have undertaken the Rules of Training (Sikkhapada)b) Supporting lay people in the practise of the teachings of the Buddha

To preserve and protect the good physical and mental health of adults and children and to advance the education of such adults and children about all matters concerning their health and well-being.

From our purposely designed centre, we offer a range of support to families with disabled children or any additional needs. Activities include play clubs, dance classes, mother & toddler group, soft play, IT suite, sensory suite, sibling support, educational support, agriculture, small animal petting area, specialist holiday respite, specialist adapted cycles, crafts, volunteering opportunities.

THE FUND PROVIDES LONG TERM ASSISTANCE TO RETIRED CLERGY TO HELP WITH THEIR UPKEEP AND MAINTENANCE
