THE CHARITY ASSISTS ORPHANED OR VULNERABLE YOUNG PEOPLE IN RWANDA BY PROVIDING ACCOMMODATION, FORMAL EDUCATION OR VOCATIONAL TRAINING. THEY LIVE IN THE ?FAMILY HOME?. THEY ARE TAUGHT KEY LIFE SKILLS SUCH AS FOOD HYGIENE, BUDGETING AND PERSONAL HEALTH. THE AIM IS TO EQUIP THE YOUNG PEOPLE SO THEY WILL BE ABLE TO MOVE OUT INTO THE WIDER COMMUNITY AND INDEPENDENTLY MAKE A LIFE FOR THEMSELVES.

Supporting Scouting in the Rushcliffe District

A wide range of activities for everyone in the village. These range from flower arranging to wine tasting. From pilates to art. Table sales, christmas market, performances and gatherings of all kinds.

Nottingham Bach Choir educates the public in the art and science of music, in the presentation of concerts. A particular activity is the study and performance of the music of J S Bach and his contemporaries.The choir rehearses weekly during term time at St John's Church, Carrington and performs three or four times a year in mainly church venues in the city and county of Nottinghamshire.

The giving of grants

Education/learning in scouting / life skills for young people (6 to 18 years of age) in line with the nationalaims and programme of the Scout Association.

We are a church charity working with people of all ages in the local area supporting in pastoral & spiritual care, health & wellbeing needs. We also work in children's & youth work activity, holiday clubs & youth clubs. We work with elderly people's care. We are also working closely with the OASIS Community Centre in Worksop our sister charity providing food parcels in Bassetlaw.

We operate 2 day centres for our elderly Members across Mansfield and Mansfield Woodhouse. The centres provide friendship, support, activities and a nutritional meal. Activities include games, some entertainment, outings and seasonal parties. Normally our day centres open for one day per week, but the Mansfield Woodhouse day centre now operates on an additional day, for craft activities.

Charity active in making grants available to community charities and good causes

We promote social responsibility and good citizenship through positive engagement in sport and leisure activities for young people and the wider community of all ages and groups.

We serve our local community and the wider regional, national and international community by running fundraising events throughout the year in order to raise money to help clubs, charities, organisations and individuals who need or seek our help. Our members also provide 'hands on' assistance as and when we are able to do so.
