As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with skills for life. The South West Nottinghamshire Scout District supports Explorer Scout Units and the Scout Groups across Broxtowe District to encourage the young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week, we support our members by providing the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed.

Village Hall activities for the community include Brownies & Guides, Dancing, Keep Fit, Choir Group, Women's Club, Carpet Bowls, Coffee Mornings and occasional social events. The hall is also hired out for parties etc.

Tean Valley Meadow is an 11 acre nature reserve in East Staffordshire, which since 2002 has been developed to provide unique habitats for local wildlife. The trust exists to maintain and develop the reserve as well as educating and promoting the importance of convervation to the public through courses, visits, talks and events.

The charity was set up specifically to help people of limited means who live in East Markham, by making grants to individuals and by providing accommodation. This consists of three one-bedroomed bungalows suitable for older people, and a two bedroomed house, suitable as a starter home for a young family.

Organizing and celebrating cultural festivals such as Nawruz, Eid-al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr etc.Holding religious gatherings and commemorate important Islamic events throughout the year.

Ashfield U3A is and organisation for retired and semi retired people . It is a part of the international U3A organisation and provides activities, support , education and training for older people.

The advancement of education and, in particular, the education of older people and those who are retired from full time work by all means, including associated activities conducive to learning and personal development, in Ravenshead and its surrounding locality.

The charity now leases a building and sports field from the Parish Council and has refurbished the building in 2019.

The protection of the environment for the public benefit, by seeking to improve flood defenses by working and communicating with the community, other similar organisations and relevant authorities to reduce the risk of flooding in the Lowdham and surrounding area, by helping manage the flow of water into, through and out of the village, and giving support to the appropriate authorities in keeping

Active Respite provides financial support to children in need to promote educational and physical wellbeing. Active Respite funds leisurely activities such as sporting activities, musical activities, and artistic activities.Active Respite also provides tailored books, and educational app subscriptions to families in need, and accommodations which protect families in need.

We use the charity's financial assets to support and encourage chess in the county of Nottinghamshire. Grants of money are made to other bodies who organise chess-related projects which use chess for recreational, educational and mental health purposes. Trustees take an active interest in the progress and success of projects but do not organise or administer them in their capacity as trustees.
