Glantawe (Swansea Valley) Lions support individuals and organisations in the Swansea Valley. We give out Food Parcels at Christmas. We support local foodbanks within our area. We encourage individuals to remember a loved one at Christmas with our 4 Trees of Light. We run a monthly coffee morning. We collect spectacles as part of our Sight First campaign. We give out Message in a Bottle canisters.

CONCERTS ARE GIVEN BY INDIVIDUAL CHOIRS WITHIN THE NORTH WALES FEDERATION IN SUPPORT OF LOCAL CHARITIES WITH THE BENEFIT OF PROMOTING MALE VOICE SINGING FOR ALL AGES WITHIN LOCAL COMMUNITIES. CONCERTS HAVE BEEN HELD RECENTLY AT BOTH BANGOR AND WREXHAM WHEN SMALLER CHOIRS COMBINED TO GIVE CONCERTS TO LARGER AUDIENCES IN SUPPORT OF LOCAL CHARITIES.

To provide facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need for such facilities for reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social or economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants of Brecon and District..

We supported 18 secondary school children and 32 primary school children by paying their school fees.. We paid for 6 teachers at the Adult Education Centre. There was an emergency appeal following a fire at one of the dormitories in St Luke's School. An initial payment of £6,000 was sent.

Fund raising for the benefit of Kerry Primary School and its pupils

To relieve sickness and to promote and protect good health by providing services over and above that which the NHS provides to Bishop's Castle NHS Community Hospital and to assist the hospital working with its catchment area's six G.P. practices, Integrated Care Team, Nurses, therapists and the area's District Nurses to benefit the hospital's in patients and all members of the community.

To advance the education and wellbeing of children up to the age of 18 years old in the Pontardawe and surrounding area through the provision of grants, clothing and necessary supplies and equipment.

Provision of Community Centre

Choir of mixed voices providing opportunity for choral singing in Llandrindod Wells and also putting on concerts including one major concert with orchestra once per annum.

Payments for the relief of people in need in the parish of Llandeilo Graban.

Providing an after school child care service for school aged children.

After School Club Facility

Dragon Arts and Learning promotes social inclusion through arts and learning. We dare based at The Factory, Church Street, Pontardawe, Swansea SA8 4JB. From 10:00am to 10:00, five days a week we are able to host workshops which include ceramics, art therapy, music, ICT and other creative industries. We have a 'no exclusion' ethos which means everyone is welcome to participate in workshops.

Raising monies for School via Christmas Bingo, Easter Bingo, School Disco,Summer Fair, Ladies Lunch, Urdd Refreshments, and bag packing

Presses for action to sustain or enhance the landscape environment and cultural heritage of the area through publications and by working with policy and decision makers. Educates and informs through publications meetings and field trips.

Provision of local water supply

Brecknock Sinfonia Trust presents concerts of orchestral and chamber music in Brecon Cathedral and surrounding areas, providing opportunities for local musicians, particularly young musicians, to play at a high standard. The charity is a village hall and provides a variety of activities including educational and recreational activities including,drama group, aerobics, table tennis as well as performances of live arts events and exhibitions .
