The objects of the Teaching Staff Trust are the relief of need of those who are employed or have been employed (for more than five years) in the education of pupils under the age of 19 in the United Kingdom, by the provision of grants, advice and other assistance.We also undertake and support research into matters relevant to the needs of beneficiaries.

Through debating, Debate Mate delivers key skill to young people in areas of high child poverty. University undergraduate debaters run after-school debating clubs in inner-city schools across the UK. Debate Mate also runs regional and national inter-school debating competitions. Learning to debate develops core skills identified by business and the government as missing in mainstream education.

We support, advance and encourage the study and practice of Buddhism and mindful living in accordance with the teachings of meditation master Thich Nhat Hanh, in the UK and overseas, in keeping with the Five Mindfulness Trainings of the Order of Interbeing (Tiep Hien). The Society of Christ provides priests for parishes in various parts of the country where there is a substantial Polish Community and is running one residential care home for the Polish Community.

Just Like Us sends recent LGBT school leavers into schools to give talks and workshops that champion LGBT equality and challenge prejudice. Our national initiative, School Diversity Week, empowers pupils to run events that tackle homophobia, biphobia and transphobia. We also train teachers to support students in establishing Pride Groups, student-led clubs for LGBT students and allies.

The charity's main objective remains the control of feral cats, by limiting their numbers throught neutering and returning to site, by providing veterinary care where necessary and by finding homes for kittens and tame stray cats. Each year the charity manages to neuter more than 1000 cats, home more than 1000 cats and provide veterinary care, other than neutering, for some 750 cats.
