GRANTMAKER

To build, preserve, operate and exhibit for public benefit, for educational benefit and instructional purposes locomotives of historical or scientific importance, in particular a peppercorn class A1 express passenger locomotive.

To promote and provide for the advancement, education and training of adults and young people in all aspects of technology and to rehabilitate and help them back to work directly or through third parties, including community participation in recreational sports that have a positive impact on their social integration, mobility, mental or physical wellbeing or the environment in which it operates.

To advance such charitable purposes (according to the laws of England) as the charity trustees see fit from time to time by making grants to organisations and individuals for the relief of poverty in the United Kingdom and sub-Saharan Africa, including the provision of improved healthcare and enhanced educational and sporting opportunities for children and their families

To advance the science, practice and professionalism of quarrying through education, training and the encouragement of progressive improvements in standards of business, technical and environmental performance.
