DEMRP undertakes employment, education, training, social & economic community development activities, targeting young, elderly, women, ethnic minorities and unemployed.DEMRP as an umberlla/ resourse body undertakes and provides consultation, research, advocacy, advice / information services.

Pastoral care, religious services, Funeral services & support for the bereaved, Sunday school classes to improve knowledge of the Sikh faith/learn Punjabi language. Langar (hot cooked meal) is provided every Sunday. The Gurdwara (Temple) is a personal space for private prayer/contemplation. We manage and maintain Wood Lane Countryside Centre for practical nature conservation projects, countryside skills training, environmental education and leisure time activities to improve the health and well being of people of all ages in the local community and raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity and wildlife.

The charity is in place to run and maintain the Lomas Hall which is a village hall left in trust to the people of Stannington in 1952 by Miss Flora Lomas. The hall is used by fourteen local groups on a regular basis by people of all ages ranging from a mother and toddler group to the women's fellowship. It also available for occasional use events.

Opera on Location has been established to allow the advancement of the arts through the promotion & presentation of opera, & to advance the education of the general public through innovatively staged, affordable, high-quality opera in unconventional performance spaces sung in English by young performers in the early stages of their careers/professional singers requiring further stage experience.
