Home-Start Blackmore Vale helps build better lives for children. It supports isolated, struggling and vulnerable families either in their own homes, or through group work. The family must have a least one child under 5 years. The support enables them to cope with difficulties through a network of trained volunteers who work with the family according to their individual needs.

Regular public worship. Provision of sacred space for personal prayer and contemplation. Pastoral work, including visiting the sick and the bereaved. Teaching of Christianity. Taking religious assemblies in schools. The provision of a youth club and activities for senior citizens, parents and toddlers and other special need groups. Supporting other charities in the UK and overseas.

To enhance the development and education of children under statutory school age by encouraging parents to understand and provide for the needs of their children through community groups.

Family support by the use of home visiting volunteers

To provide accessible and affordable community transport to a rural area of South Somerst. The transport is for eligble groups and individuals who are socially, economically or physically disadvantaged and to encorage greater community participation of these people and those who are geographically isolated.

Bridgwater Baptist Church was founded early in the 17th Century.We base our faith and practice on the Bible and the teaching of Jesus Christ. We practice believers baptism and communion is open to all. We are linked to the South Western Baptist Association and the Baptist Union. We provide day opportunities for older people including those living with memory loss and other health issues. We are open 5 days a week and 1 Saturday a month with up to 20 people a day attending. Our main aim is to help prevent social isolation and give family carers a break. We also provide an outreach service to promote physical and mental wellbeing and companionship.

We are a volunteer run organisation that promotes folk music performance chiefly through the staging of an annual three day festival and work with local schools. We also raise money to promote music and art and improving the environs of Priddy in the Mendip AONB

Project Food aims to support people living in poverty to eat a nutritious diet irrespective of their income, so that they can enjoy better physical and mental health. We help people to develop the skills and confidence they need to prepare nutritious food for the future. We focus on resilience, supporting people to develop ways to eat that fit in to their lives and support their health.
