At Trull Saplings Preschool we care for children aged from 2 years to school entry. We provide the children with a well planned and safe environment that makes organised provision for children and interest through a wide range of activities.

Somerset Beekeepers Association (SBKA) is one of over 60 County Beekeeping associations and whose purpose is to advance the education of the public and beekeepers in the craft of beekeeping and to promote the importance of bees in the environment. The SBKA has 12 branches covering Somerset. All offer local training programmes and events to its members and to the public.

UNDERTAKE RESEARCH AND EDUCATION RELEVANT TO PRIMARY CARE AND GENERAL PRACTICE

The charity provides an educational programme for schools which is National Curriculum linked with work sheets available for topics at Key Stages 1 to 4. More advanced studies are available for colleges, community groups and the general public. The Centre offeres a unique learning experience which includes looking at areas of former quarrying which have geological or wildlife interest.

Banwell FC offers healthy recreation at Banwell in North Somerset by providing facilities for the playing of amateur football and other such sports or physical activities for ages ranging from juniors to veterans and for girls and boys that will improve their fitness, health and mental wellbeing so that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society.

Christian worship and teaching is offered regularly, free of charge, open to all, in all age groups. Parish outreach in the form of regular and one-off activities and events in church and church hall.

The Pod is a registered charity in Mendip meeting the needs of young carers and people with additional needs aged 8 upwards, and their families. The charity provides safe supportive sociable and enterprising spaces in Frome, as well as providing opportunities and support for members to engage in community initiatives.

Maintain and operate a Railway Centre at Yeovil Junction including facilities to assist with running main line steam trains. Public open days using resident steam engine arranged and designed to educate. Visitor Centre developed in an 1864 built Transfer Shed. Activities continue to improve and extend our work.

Forest of Selwood is set up to achieve the following charitable objects:i. To promote the conservation of the natural and physical environment of the Forest of Selwood and its surroundings and to educate the public in its heritage. ii. To advance the education and awareness of the Forest of Selwood community and the public in the principles of biodiversity conservation and sustainability.

Somerset Wildlands makes space for nature through rewilding, acquiring patches of land large and small which can be managed in as hands off a way as possible, to create wild stepping stones to benefit wildlife and people.

The Trust aims to relieve and assist young persons under the age of 25 who suffer deprivation, poverty, financial hardship or difficulty, parental neglect, lack of control or other misfortune.

Animal sanctuary

GSD 2000 rescues unwanted, abandoned or badly-treated GSDs and re-homes them in suitable private homes. All animals are neutered. Any dog previously re-homed is accepted back into care at any time which ensures life-long security. Some older dogs may be placed in homes on a charity-assisted basis, meaning that some of their veterinary fees are funded by the Charity.

In The Mix Project provides youth and community services for children and young people, and their families across Somerset. The Charity offer a range of social, economic, educational and recreational opportunities, designed to encourage social inclusion and life-long learning, helping to create both economic and social independence, linking to core youth work practices and principles.
