Planning, researching and delivering a Literary Festival in Ilminster. The festival includes many topics, speakers, authors, poets and journalists. We aim to involve as many schools as we can in some way and we offer a wide variety of venues in the locality and even wider neighbourhood of villages and hamlets. We use several hotels, restaurants,sports clubs and indeed a Masonic Lodge.

A rural Youth movement for young people aged 10-26yrs. Members can gain confidence and recognised Skills in Public Speaking, Sports Competitions, Drama and Entertainments, Stockjudging and Cattle Showing, Duke of Edingburgh and Meetings & Social Events.

Community groups, fundraising

We maintain a healthy membership upwards of 60 attending Wednesday evenings. The Corona Virus has forced us to replace face to face rehearsals with Zoom meetings, and all concerts have been cancelled. We have had small numbers of personnel at our hall when lockdown restrictions permitted. We continue to support our venue and our musicians to maintain relationships for the future.

To advance the Christian Religion and in particular to support the work of Evangelists comended by "Counties" in Somerset or such other areas as may be deemed appropriate.

The village hall provides a venue for activities eg. scouts, OAPs, keep fit, whist drives, parties, short mat bowls etc. & bingo.

Encourage the breeding of Dorset Down Sheep and maintain the purity of the breed

WE HOLD FUND RAISING EVENTS TO FUND EQUIPMENT AND TRIPS FOR THE SCHOOL CHILDREN

The advancement of amateur cricket by promoting the community participation in healthy recreation, for the benefit of the residents of Butleigh and the surrounding area, by:(a) the provision of facilities for playing cricket. (b) encouraging and developing the cricketing skills and knowledge of senior and junior members(c) running of regular coaching sessions and competitive teams

Management of Playing Field, Pavilion and Playground.

Objects: To maintain the fabric of the parish church of St Mary the Virgin Bathwick Bath and the upkeep of the organ and furniture and fittings therein. If not required as above in any year, to further the religious and other charitable work of the Church of England in the said ecclesiastical parish.

The Church provides religious services for public worship, including dissemination of Spiritualist teaching and philosophy, together with special services throughout the year, along with events and functions. The Church is affiliated with the Spiritualists National Union.
