Thornbury & District League of Friends will give grants to organisations in Thornbury and surrounding parishes, who work with people with health-related and wellbeing needs, diagnosed or otherwise, where such assistance is not typically provided through the NHS.

The Charity acts as an alternative learning resource providing a service to young people who are referred by local schools as these young people have been excluded from mainstream education and are given respite education and specialist activities as a platform to re-engage and re-enthuse them. An evening Youth club is run for local young people. There are activities for Elderly Disabled People.

Pucklechurch Playgroup is an Ofsted-approved community based Playgroup, providing sessional care for children aged between 2 and 5.

To provide supported housing accommodation in the community with associated amenities for the mentally ill or disabled.

To promote the use of the Armstrong Hall in the interests of social welfare for use as a public hall, community and recreation centre with ancillary uses for the recreation and leisure time, occupation of the inhabitants of Thornbury and the neighbourhood.

The Parent Teacher & Friends Association hold events in the school to raise money to buy additional equipment for the school

To restore, preserve and operate railway locomotives, carriages, wagons, vehicles & other artefacts of historical interest and the structures connected therewith for the benefit and education of the public; to conserve books, drawings, records, documents, sound & visual recordings, cinematography films and photographs and other archives relating to such objects, their history and their development

Provision of rooms and facilities for hire to local and private users in the Frenchay district of Bristol and beyond. Occasional use as a blood donor centre and polling station for local and general elections.

As the District Body for the Midlands, the MUA INC suppoerts the member congregations by making grants and offering advice and training.

THE SIRONA FOUNDATION EXISTS TO SUPPORT THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF LOCAL COMMUNITIES. ITS PRIMARY FOCUS IS TO SUPPORT HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE PROVIDERS IN OFFERING A BETTER EXPERIENCE FOR SERVICE USERS AND IMPROVE WELLBEING. THIS MAY INCLUDE COMMUNITY PROJECTS; VITAL EQUIPMENT AND OR STAFF DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES OUTSIDE THE LIMIT OF NORMAL FUNDING SOURCES.

The trust owns almshouses in the form of four flats in Thornbury and makes grants in to those in need in the parish. This trust also owns a commercial property on Thornbury High Street, and allotments with over 140 plots. The rental income of the commercial property and allotments helps to finance the Almshouses and grants.

Encouraging the appreciation of, or participation in, musical theatre by the performance of musical shows, pantomimes and concerts at venues in or near Thornbury.

Providing a range of social and educational activities for the benefit and social welfare of the inhabitants of Southmead and the neighbourhood without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions . Associating with the local authorities and other voluntary bodies to promote the well-being and improve the conditions of life of the local inhabitants by common effort.

The Charity accepts donations of non-perishable food from members of the public directly or via supermarket collections. These donations are weighed and sorted into food-types then checked for end dates and stored.Referral Agencies make referral for those in urgent need of food-support to visit the foodbank distribution centrewhere they are given 3-days worth of emergency food.

The Max Carey Woodturrning Trust's object is to advance the education of the public in the subject of woodturning. It achieves this by providing fully equipped workshop facilities, structured courses and tuition.

We take in, free of charge, mistreated or abandoned rabbits, including pets whose owners suffer ill health or financial difficulties or pass away. Animals in our care receive veterinary treatment, are vaccinated and neutered as art of our on-going programme and are then are found new permanent homes. We also offer free animal care advice and education to the general public.

Using golf as a mechanism in the development of young people who have experienced adversity and trauma and to support them in building resilience for the future, improving mental and physical health. We use The Kendleshire Golf Club facilities working in partnership with our golf professionals and mentoring partner Strive Youth Engagement using a person-centred trauma responsive approach.

The SWGP provides a Ministry Training Course based at St Bart's Church, Bath. This one or two year course aims to equip those who want to be able to teach the Bible and serve in ministry more effectively. The SWGP also co-ordinates a number of other events throughout the year, including the Bristol Men's Convention, Bible teaching and training days and youth-oriented events.

THE FUND DISTRIBUTES GRANTS TO LOCAL COMMUNITY PROJECTS SEEKING TO REDUCE CARBON EMISSIONS OR TACKLE FUEL POVERTY IN THE DEFINED AREAS. APPLICATIONS FROM PROJECTS IN THE VICINITY OF BATH & WEST COMMUNITY ENERGY (BWCE) PROJECTS ARE PARTICULARLY WELCOME. BWCE DONATES ITS SURPLUS PROFITS TO THE FUND, GENERATED FROM THE DEVELOPMENT OF ITS COMMUNITY OWNED RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS.
