We are a chamber orchestra, run by volunteers and having charitable status. Employing professional musicians - often past players from major orchestras, or promising young players - we provide St. Helens and surrounds with regular orchestral concerts and recitals of classical music. We are financed by ticket sales, fund raising activities, private sponsorship, and grants of public money.

To help & educate young people through their leisure time activities so they can develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacity and grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society.

BOWLING CLUB

The Charity provides advancement of the Christian Faith, the Advancement of Education, and the relief of poverty or sickness in the UK and abroad. The Charity helps children, young people and other defined groups. The Charity makes grants or loads to individuals, provides buildings and facilities and provides services (eg care/counselling).

Seeks to enhance and preserve the history and surroundings of the township of Rainhill. Monitors planning applications. Also organises an annual gardening competition, and holds a programme of meetings throughout the winter season, open to all. New activities include an oral history project with sound recordings made by local people .Community-wide commemoration of local involvement in WW1

THE AIM IS TO ASSIST YOUNG WOMEN, OF NON-VOCATIONAL and VOCATIONAL EDUCATION, IN BUYING EQUIPMENT OR MATERIALS, NEEDED TO HELP GAIN A QUALIFICATION AND ACHIEVE INDEPENDENCE.

We hold regular meetings and workshops to further education and interest in lacemaking. We also demonstrate lacemaking to the general public when invited.

Public entertainment by means of high quality, classical, choral concerts.

As a local initiative of the Street Pastor movement, Saint Helens Street Pastors train and mobilize Christian volunteers from local churches to offer practical care and compassion to people in the night-time economy, particularly to people in vulnerable situations. We work in partnership with the police, local authority and voluntary organisations.

Weekly distribution of news and current events on electronic media to blind and partially-sighted people.
