DCSRA promotes the playing of squash and squash57 throughout Durham and Cleveland by organising coaching, running competitions such as County Championships (Seniors, Masters and Junior) and County Leagues and providing information and advice to venues with squash courts on how to maximise their use.

The society organises ten lectures each year on the decorative and fine arts. It has a church recorders group whose researches produce records of the fabric and contents of churches for presentation. Volunteers assist museums and other institutions with the cataloguing and maintenance of heritage property. The society makes grants to support arts projects in the community.

TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF PUPILS IN THE SCHOOL BY ENGAGING IN ACTIVITIES OR PROVIDING FACILITIES OR EQUIPMENT WHICH SUPPORT THE SCHOOL.

Funds as approved by the Trustees are used to support a PhD Student from the Institute of Cellular Medicine within the Newcastle University Medical School. The student is determined at the discretion of the Dean of Postgraduate Studies

We have Slimming World, Fitness Classes [8 x 1 hour sessions] , a religious service once a month, social events e.g. birthday parties, coffee afternoons, karate competitions.

Makes cash and goods donations to local, national and international charities and other good causes.

As a registered charity we help families with children with cardiac heart defects. we help families financially by helping them with their house hold bills, shopping ect. while their in hospital with their child/children, we also visit hospitals throughout the year bringing gifts to the children, parents and nurses.

The principal activity is to provide holidays for needy children from the North East of England who would not otherwise have the opportunity of such a break.

Washington U3A provide a list of activities for people who are retired 'but not retiring'These activities inlclude:- Digital photography and computing, family history, garden club, luncheons, ladies swimming, quiz, relaxation, pergamano, scrabble, dominoes, whist, singing, strolling, travel and walking.

Music Matters North East aims to raise funds and in-kind donations for the promotion of arts, particularly the arts of music, poetry, drama and dance for the public benefit in North East England. We will do this through the provision of community based interactive workshops in areas where public access to these arts is limited by geography, financial means or other restrictions.

ORGANISATION OF SOCIAL EVENTS; FACILITATING/MANAGING HIRE OF COMMUNITY CENTRE FOR SOCIAL AND SPORTS ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS.

To facilitate and support the churches of the North east in their relationships with one another and their wider mission in the world. This is promoted by encouraging and developing the principles and practicalities of Christian Unity throughout the region and encouraging the churches to engage with their communities through social action

The West Community Centre runs a variety of activities eg. Martial Arts, Art club, Keep fit, Line Dance, Dance classes in tap and Ballet for all ages. We also have table tennis training and Association Table Tennis. We have a Martial Art Class and a Zumba Class. We have a social club and rent out our halls for various uses.

Preservation and display of Victorian Pumping Station

Provision of football fields and open space for recreational use for under 12's, together with associated facilities for both boys and girls.

To promote for the public benefit of the community of Washington and adjacent areas the permanent preservation and maintenance of Washington Old Hall as being a building of beauty and historic interest and the preservation and maintenance of the environs of the Hall.

WE PERFORM AMATEUR PRODUCTIONS AROUND THE SOUTH SHIELDS AREA.

Life long learning in the third age of life. An organisation for the over 50's, no longer in employment, providing classes in a variety of subjects, lead by members for members. In addition there are monthly meeting with a guest speaker and occasional educational visits.

The charity was formed for the purposes of providing financial and practical support to the Oriental Museum (which is part of the University of Durham) and to inform members about all aspects of the history, culture etc. of the Orient (through lectures, events, etc.).

To manage and maintain Roseby Road Wellbeing Centre in Horden providing services and activities including health, education, social welfare, recreation and leisure to improve health and wellbeing of the local population.

To arrange and provide for the holding of exibitions, shows, meetings, bingos, youth club, mother and toddler.
