Amateur Boxing Club

Durham Anglican Cursillo is afiliated to British Anglican Cursillo Council (BACC) and operates the Cursillo method within the diocese of Durham and Newcastle. Established church members are invited to attend Cursillo weekends at which they are encouraged to grow in the christian faith through prayer and study and action. After the weekend, participants are encouraged to join a reunion group.

Tyneside A Cappella is an amateur chorus which meets weekly to learn and develop their musical knowledge and to perform in the local and wider area for a variety of charities and good causes.

M.A.S. is a local history society that presents a series of lectures, outings and an annual exhibitiion.It is also actively trying to establish a local museum/heritage centre based on The Society's own collection.

The provision of rescue boats and crews for any event on water, at sea or inland.Crews can be aged from 14.All assignment crews have RYA Powerboat certificates.

The Trust is currently for the benefit of such employees or former employees of the Charles Clay & Sons Limited as shall for the time being be in poor or necessitous circumstances

BAMS seeks to promote knowledge and love of music by promoting a series of high quality concerts in Bishop Auckland. The concerts are widely advertised and are open to the general public.

Durham Bat Group promotes the conservation and welfare of bats within the vice-county of Durham, including the provision of advice and help to the public with regard to bats, education of the public about bats by means of talks, bat walks, talks to school groups etc., encouragement of community participation in bat related activities, and study of bats to improve understanding of their biology..

We are continuously fundraising for children with complex needs and life threatening illnesses.

Coastal search, rescue (SAR) & Coastwatch. The SAR team is on call to assist Her majesties Coastguard (HMCG) 24 hours a day,365 days a year. The Coastwatch team operates 4 days each week. The Coastwatch team is a "Declared Facilities" of the HMCG. D/Edin training is available. The HQ are open to public as a museum. School parties & community groups visit. Visits are made to both groups

Help relieve the needs of disabled children in Sunderland and surrounding areas

To provide a range of activities to encourage continuing use of mind and bodies in the Third Age to all who are "no longer in full time paid employment"and are willing to help themselves and others.

To advance the education of the public in the art of Brass Band music and to further the development of public appreciation of said art by the presentation of concerts and such similar activities and to encourage the musical education of all ages by the provision of tuition and training facilities.

Fund raising events in co-ordination with staff, children and parents of school.Makes grants to organisation. Provides human resources for school events.Provides advocacy/advice/information.

Remembering the Past, Resourcing the Future is an innovative, user-led project to create a web-based community history of 20th century North Tyneside and its surrounding areas, based on the memories of older people. Material collected by RPRF is disseminated to local schools in various forms to support the local history element of the national curriculum.

To raise funds to enrich the education of the children of Darras Hall Primary School

Grants to health professionals, such as Consultants,doctors, nurses and physiotherapists for travelling and studying best practices at centres of breast cancer excellence.

SPORT AND RECREATION

Multicultural work, the idea being community cohesion. Collaborative work with local cultural groups and with Customs House Trust (theatre and cinema) South Shields. We also run classical dance (Bharatnatyam) classes and Bollywood dance classes at the Customs House Mill Dam South Shields.

To provide for the benefit of inhabitants of Washington Village and neighbourhood without distinction of sex, race or of political or other opinions access to a variety of social, educational and leisure activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants and secure the establishment of a community centre.

Provides opportunities to commemorate Hindu religious and cultural activities for the Bengali Hindu community in North East England and other interested people.

Provision of a range of self help educational groups aimed at +50 yrs. Groups total 35 covering differing topics eg photography, art appreciation, local history, art-drawing; watercolours, drama, french conversation, current affairs discussion, video & editing, family history, poetry, walking, dancing etc.
