BGCI was founded in 1987 to link botanic gardens as a co-operating global network for effective plant conservation. BGCI aims to do this in four ways byleading and advocacy,leading innovative and strategic projects achieving outcomes in plant conservation policy, practice and education,building plant conservation capacity in botanic gardens and broader society,and by providing funding.

We provided training on international human rights law. We supported pilot projects to improve the safeguarding of detainees' rights. We supported legal aid cases. We provided capacity building to Chinese civil society organisations promoting public participation, an end to the use of torture, abolition of the death penalty and protecting the rights of the disabled.

Concordia is committed to national and international volunteering and work placements to promote intercultural understanding and peace. The EACR is a membership organisation for those studying and working in cancer research. It provides education, training, networking and support for members and non-members with the aim of making progress in cancer research for the public benefit.

The aim of SSIEM is to foster the study of inherited metabolic disorders and related topics by arranging scientific meetings, publications and training. SSIEM is willing to spread interest and study in inborn errors around the world by selectively supporting membership and attendance at conferences from areas where financial resources are more limited.

Advancing education in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM subjects) inparticular with the aim of increasing diversity in STEM subjects and improving representation of underprivileged students. Operating internationally in the UK, the United States, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, China, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, India and other jurisdictions in which a grant would be beneficial.
