The African Bird Club gives grants to individuals and groups in African countries to support a wide range of small to medium-sized projects there that benefit the conservation of African birds or their habitats. The object of Wilmslow Wells for Africa is the relief of poverty in the continent of Africa by the provision of water for human consumption and irrigation. This may be achieved by the drilling of wells, the building of dams, the provision of storage tanks or any other means.

1. Subsidising running costs of Choba Primary and Nursery School, an independent (of the government) Tanzanian school for 350 children that was initially built by Children of Choba. Parents now pay fees that cover 84% of running costs, including salaries, porridge and maintaining school buildings.2. Sponsoring fees and boarding costs of selected Choba graduates at secondary school and college.
