The Mathematical Association, formed in 1871, works to support and improve the teaching of mathematics. It is represented on all major bodies concerned with mathematics education in the UK and has wide influence through its members, publications and activities. Primary/secondary schools teachers, lecturers in further/higher education, advisers, inspectors, practising mathematicians are members.

The education of the public in the art of drama and the promotion of their appreciation of classical and modern drama in all its artistic forms at the Royal National Theatre (the NT"); the relief of past or present employees of the NT who are in necessitous circumstances; as ancilliary to the above objects, to support the NT in its aims to further the appreciation of classical and modern drama.

Group B streptococcus (GBS) is the UK's commonest life-threatening infection in newborn babies. Without preventative medicine, GBS infects approximately 700 babies a year: 75 die & 40 survivors have long-term problems. Most GBS infections are preventable by offering higher-risk women antibiotics in labour. GBSS informs pregnant women and health professionals how to do this, saving tiny lives.
