After completing the restoration of the Dawn, a Thames sailing barge, to seaworthiness in 2008 ,the role of the Trust is to ensure the safeguarding of the barge for the future. Stamp Out Suicide (SOS) exists to a provide free phone line counselling service for anyone in England, Scotland and Wales living with suicidal thoughts. The other objective is to increase awareness with the UK community about SOS.

We deliver programmes that enable PTSD victims to confront their challenges in surroundings conducive to progress and development. The key concept of veteran peer-to-peer support is used to stimulate post-traumatic growth and permit sufferers to re-occupy a more positive place in society.

We assist the academic study and research of the subject of historical dress, using the Hopkins Costume Collection as a basis. The collection is made available to students and historians of the subject, as well as documentary makers and costumer designers for film, television, and theatre. We also lend out parts of the collection to museums, to be exhibited for the benefit of the public.
