Our charitable activities fall into two categories.(1) Custodianship: of Dove Cottage; of our collection of manuscripts, books & fine art; and of the historic environment of Town End, Grasmere(2) Access and learning: visitor operations; exhibitions and publications; education; and contemporary literature.

MRF's principal objectives are:To promote and protect the mental health of young people through the provision of support, education and practical adviceTo provide support to families and friends of young people suffering from mental illness, including those bereaved after a suicideTo advance the awareness and education of the general public in all areas relating to mental illness

To carry out research into all aspects of human heart disease including prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. Undertaking and promoting research in relation to cardiac transplant surgery, human heart valves, tissue engineering, circulatory support, immunology of the heart, biochemistry of heart failure, biology of human blood vessels, molecular aspects of heart disease and genetic research

The charitable objective of Instructus is to advance education for the public benefit by promoting qualifications, training and skills.

An independent scholarly association, with 350 institutional members across around 50 countries, which supports political scientists through: a programme of world renowned conferences and events, all with funding opportunities for members; a publishing portfolio which includes a book series and three leading journals; its own publishing imprint, ECPR Press; and a range of high profile prizes.

Primarily involved in supporting homeless and vulnerable veterans who have served in the British armed forces. Services include the provision of accommodation, social work, alcohol counselling, and advocacy.

The education of youth in any part of the world in music, culture and the arts

The charity's objectives relate to the provision of safe and supported accommodation to women and childrenexperiencing domestic violence and abuse.

TO PROMOTE PLANT SCIENCE BY PUBLISHING LEARNED JOURNALS, INCLUDING NEW PHYTOLOGIST. FUNDING EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN THE BROAD AREA OF PLANT SCIENCES. SUPPORTING DEFINED GROUPS AND MAKING GRANTS TO ORGANISATIONS THAT FALL WITHIN THE GENERAL REMIT OF THE TRUST.SPONSORING SYMPOSIA AND OTHER SCIENTIFIC MEETINGS WITH THEMES RELEVANT TO THE WORK OF THE TRUST.

The Foundation provides housing for former members of the armed forces and merchant marine who have a degree of disability or infirmity and who are in need of charitable housing due to their particular circumstances.

The Students Association provides support and services to students of the Open University, typical of a Students Union. This includes:i) listening to students and representing their voice and collective interests;ii) engaging students in a vibrant and active community, creating new opportunities; iii) enhancing the student experience and contributing to student success.

Support Dogs Ltd trains assistance dogs for people with physical disabilities, Epilepsy and families of children with Autism.

EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

To advance education in, and to foster and encourage the preservation and better understanding of the material heritage of mankind and the environment for the public benefit by the promotion and development of museums and galleries and encouraging the involvementof the public. To establish and advance professional standards of those employed in museums and galleries.

We support people affected by inherited progressive sight loss and invest in medical research to ensure that people can lead a fulfilling life.

The Fund is a grant making Charitable Trust which awards grants in accordance with it's charitable objectives of the prevention, treatment or relief of mental or other forms of illness. Since 2001 the Trustees' funding priority has been solely learning disability.

To fund ground-breaking research into the prediction and prevention of breast cancer. Our four pillars of research are gene research, improved screening & early diagnosis, preventative drugs and diet & lifestyle. Our overall aim is to make breast cancer a preventable disease for our future generations.

Advancement of education

Training

The Charity is dedicated to improving the quality of life of severely disadvantaged children (5 - 12 Yrs) by offering them respite breaks at the Honeypot House in the New Forest and our new house in County Powys, Wales , plus a wider programme of long term support. This includes regular visits by the Honeypot Outreach team.

Provision of housing for RAF personnel who face medical retirement from the RAF following a serious disabling accident or illness, and for the families of those who die whilst serving

To promote and advance for the public benefit the education and training of persons employed orintending to be employed in the plumbing, mechanical services and other related industries both in the United Kingdom and elsewhere.To promote useful research into any matters relating to the training for employment in the plumbing,mechanical services and other related industries.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.
