The Charity's objective is the relief of poverty by making grants and loans direct to such persons to secure or improve housing accommodation; making grants and loans to assist in purchasing or maintaining homes and hostels; making donations, grants and loans as assistance to other bodies in the furtherance of housing, homes, hostels and any associated amenities.

We operate a number of community managed facilities to empower volunteer teams to shape and grow their environment. Our current facilities include a community managed library and social hub and allotments.

The ministry is dedicated to advancing Christianity and alleviating poverty through education, healthcare, and spiritual support to people in the UK, Europe and parts of Africa. We engage in various outreach activities. Christian Conference and Training Centre

During the year we have run our third Christian prayer ministry training school facilitated by Elijah House Ministries. This provided a safe setting for the attendees to learn and practice prayer ministry and the opportunity to experience personal healing through small group ministry. This school was held in Nottingham.

Common Ground links nature and culture, working to inspire, inform and involve people in learning about and becoming active in their own locality. Our aim is to provide an educational outdoor adventure experience shaped by fun, friendship, free-thought and respect without exclusion due to financial constraints. Our Summer camp is for children aged 9 to 21, mainly from the Sunderland area, but there are no restrictions on children attending from further afield.
