Lewisham Music is the lead music education hub organisation in Lewisham, funded by Arts Council England. It operates in accordance with the core and extension roles for music hubs. The charity also facilitates a wide and diverse network of local, regional and national partner and associate organisations which enrich musical opportunities and pathways for young people across the borough.

Core work is in supporting families, providing care in our pre-school nursery for children aged 0 -5 and a Bed sit scheme for young mothers. Wallis bedsits are for young mothers (16-22 yrs) who lack parental support or require additional help through a difficult period in their lives. The general purpose of the charity is to support the objects of the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) and these are to promote, maintain and advance education, particularly musical education and to encourage the arts including the arts of music, drama, mime, dancing and singing.
