Charities In Uganda

We provide transport for healthcare needs from villages in Uganda to local healthcare facilities. This reduces the length and severity of suffering and increases the chance of a swift and full recovery for highly vulnerable populations, especially children and maternity cases. The service is free to the user and we support healthcare workers to deliver community care and outreach work.

The Truan Trust offers support to young people to receive an education in Uganda. Funding is provided to assist youngsters to obtain an education who do not have any family support, such as orphans through AIDS, or where the family can only offer part support e.g. children of peasant farmers. At present most support is given to students studying at secondary or in post-secondary education.

Through scholarships and grants Imara-Uganda Education Fund supports the education of 32 disadvantaged children and young people, The charity provides educational facilities and materials for schools. The charity is providing funds for the building of a secondary school for the blind and other students next to their primary school in the Lira area. The first phase opened in February 2024.

The objects of the Foundation are to alleviate poverty, to advance education, to relieve sickness and to promote health and to preserve and protect the natural environment at home and abroad. As a grant making charity, the Constitution also provides for general charitable purposes for Public Benefit.

Donations made to various individuals and Charities selected according to the aims and objectives of the Foundation,including work in the UK, Kenya, Colombia, Burundi, Cambodia,Uganda, Napal

Touchstone Projects supports motivational and inspirational programmes in prisons and immigration detention centres in the UK and abroad.Other supported projects include educational programmes in Africa as well as poverty and disaster relief in Africa and Asia.

Providing guitars to individuals and organisations where it is difficult to obtain or purchase them. For the purpose of developing music skills and promoting praise and worship in Churches and youth groups.

We support inspirational music projects which actively preserve and promote a community's cultural music heritage while also discovering and nurturing new, emerging talent. We are currently supporting a cultural music heritage project in East Africa called Singing Wells. GRANTMAKING: Grants, made at trustee discretion, go to UK charities for their work overseas. Approaches for possible funding must be made through our Google form. We support projects aimed at producing lasting change, particularly through small-scale self-help initiatives, to some of the poorest sections of society. We also have concern for the victims of violence and for the promotion of peace.

Engineers for Overseas Development exists to enhance the experience of young construction professionals, challenging members to undertake development projects which improve the health, hygiene, education and self-sufficiency for those from some of the poorest communities in rural Africa, and provides those participating with an opportunity to broaden their skills and experience.
