Registered African charities seeking to improve the quality of life of their communities by improving water supplies, farming/animal husbandry etc as well as education of orphans and widows' children, the provison of livelihood skills such as IT training/leadership programmes, furniture making, photography, baking, catering, sewing, hair dressing etc. can be invited to apply for grants.

The principal objectives are the relief of poverty and the promotion of Christian Faith & Values. Because of our limited resources, we normally work through grants to individuals or small organisations known to the trustees. We value training grants, encouragement of young people, and investment in small groups which can influence others in achieving our main aims.

We work with Rugando Parents School (Uganda), Director & staff, to identify projects which will strengthen the infrastructure and functioning of the school and local community. We identify finite projects, & run appeals in the UK until the project is funded. All money for projects is paid out to School Director in Uganda to fund the projects.

Projects funded to date:A community based workshop for training in furniture making;A three classroom block as the first sage of a Community Secondary School.A fourth classroom as the second stage of building the school allowing for increased intake.Both projects are within the Manafwa region of Uganda, and are operated by the local community.

We work with and support those that want to restore the lives of children and families that have been harmed through poverty and oppression. We aim to restore fullness of life among emotionally and psychologically hurting children and their familes through education and counselling services.

Our purpose is promote the conservation protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment and recognised endangered species by supporting conservation projects and programmes that protect wild flora and fauna and foster responsible stewardship of the planet and its species to promote sustainable living and peace.

The Community Development Network is a free global internet facility providing multimedia resources comprising networking opportunities, training and commercial 'know how' to help equip leaders to assist community led development , linked to the global sustainable development goals The Network is a Christian led charity offering free resources to people of any faith or none

The FIOH Fund wishes to make a significant contribution to the alleviation of poverty and the improvement of the natural environment by supporting the work of non-government organisations in poor countries with the same aims.

The relief of sickness and the protection and preservation of the health of persons affected by abdominal hernias through the provision of financial assistance, surgical operations, surgical equipment, surgical facilities and practical advice to those people residing in Africa (Gambia, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Tanzania), South America (Brazil, Peru) and Asia (Pakistan and Mongolia).

The objects of WCS Europe are to promote:1. The protection and conservation of the natural environment, its flora and fauna, including by undertaking innovative approaches thereto, including notably the conservation and preservation of wildlife and wild places; 2. Education and instruction of the public on issues relating to the protection and conservation of the natural environment.

Interplast UK engages in medical missions serving in developing countries and provides free reconstructive surgery for the underprivileged. This includes treating congenital abnormalities in children, eg cleft lip and/or palate, revision of scars following burns and restoring function in the case of hand injuries. Teams total 5-15 members (surgeons, anaesthetists and nurses).

The prevention or relief of poverty, the advancement of education and the advancement of health or the saving of lives in Uganda

We support children in a region of Tanzania through links to a Primary School in Mwanza . Donations to the project help to provide new classrooms, furniture for classrooms, stationery for students, sanitary wear for girls, fresh water, textbooks, electricity, equipment, e.g. for sports or special needs children. The Project also supports a local baby home, orphanage and street children's centre.

We provide training in the care of newborn babies to healthcare staff in low-resource areas, in order to improve infant mortality rates and relieve sickness. We also provide training to candidate instructors, so that they can teach courses and make the process sustainable. We have taught in Cameroon, Liberia and Uganda, and plan to expand to other areas.

Provision of support to charities and individuals involved in development in the third world, education and promotion of the Christian faith - particularly as it is demonstrated practically in Africa.

The charity is currently sponsoring children at two schools in Uganda, The Kavule Parents School for the Deaf and The Bukeka Childrens Centre.In the Financial year 2006/2007 a dormitory block was built and fitted out at Kavule and the school buildings completed and the compound fenced at Bukeka.

The charity supports orphans and poor children in Hoima Uganda to have a sustainable livelihood through pig rearing and thus give assistance with schooling and education. This year we are helping to sink a well to provide water for crop irrigation and in addition this will benefit the local community by supplying clean drinking water and prevent waterborne diseases such as typhoid and cholera.
