The Turning Pages Foundation is dedicated to enhancing global literacy rates and advocating for the importance of reading. We prioritize empowering Children and the General Public through literacy initiatives, recognizing its transformative impact on individuals and communities worldwide. Our efforts align with the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.

We provide funding to activities in the poorest nations and communities of the world, especially those benefiting marginalised groups such as children, women, and the disabled. We work through organisations who are formally equipped and trained to empower these groups. We work only with those initiatives with which we have a personal connection, and do not respond to unsolicited requests.

To advance education including the education of orphans, widows, widowers and single parents in developing countries so as to promote social justice, equality and well being of people and the education of the general public throughout the world on the issues of poverty, ill health and injustice experience by groups mentioned above in parts of Africa, the UK or the world as the trustees think fit.

Religious, charity projects and community activities

The Charity invest in community by way of starting small and managable social enterprises and then use all proceeds on services that are most needed in such communities, like building schools, and supporting initiatives like environment protection.

1. Provide surgery to children with disabilities in various African countries2. Train African doctors as pediatric surgeons through an accredited medical training program (COSECSA)3. Provide rehabilitation therapy to 300 primary students at the Joytown School for the Physically Handicapped in Thika, Kenya4. Operate Mobile Clinics in 14 centres around Kenya to identify children for surgery

Sickle Cell and Young Stroke Survivors support the social and psychological needs of children and young people living with Sickle Cell disease and childhood Stroke in the UK. We proactively address the day-to-day needs of the children and their families to reduce isolation. We work mainly in England and are keen to provide free medical treatment and drugs to children in Africa.

We fund Get Involved with African Street Children Organisation (GI ASCO), a Ugandan registered NGO which supports 21 former street children in the GI Asco house and the Assessment and Rehabilitation Centre and a further 17 children within the local community. In addition, GI ASCO operates a transition house for 11 boys over 18 years old who are still in education or training.

Collaborate with schools in Uganda to provide sanitary care to girl students to ensure that the school dropout rate will remain low by equipping the student & teachers with practical skills, materials & tools to make sanitary pads from the school & thus ensuring that they remain sustainable. Empowering the youth by training them in farming for nutrition & health benefits & economic generation.

Relief or Prevention of Poverty by providing basics assistance in supplying educational materials, health and welfare medications and foods&clothes to the most deprived in developing countries

Rwot Ogwok Ayaru Foundation's (ROAF) current activities has been supporting children and young people education in schools and colleges. Other activities have included supporting community health education, training and health awareness programmes in Lamwo and Kitgum Districts, Uganda. ROAF has continued to support human resource development and capacity building within the community.

The Rwenzori Trust operates in the Rwenzori National Park Uganda and surrounding areas providing financial and practical assistance for the benefit of local communities, including but not limited to small scale infrastructure projects and educational support.

Help and support for homeless youth in the UK and in Uganda. Practical help is given by volunteers to individuals and families with children under immediate threat of homelessness. Grants and/or loans may be made and the Charity currently provides financial support for a children's home in southern Uganda with approx. 30 residents.

Raises funds by way of charity events, donations and applications to charitable trusts which is used to advance the education of the children at Miracle Destiny School in Uganda.

Raising and distributing UK funds to support peace-building work in East Africa: for example work to minimise conflict in refugee camps, work to support vulnerable teenagers in Rwanda, work to build mutual acceptance between herders of different ethnicities across the borders of Kenya and Somalia, vocational support for young people in Uganda.
