The primary objective of the Charity is the advancement of the Christian faith both in the United Kingdom and overseas. It also seeks the advancement for public benefit of religious education and the care of aged, poor, sick or disabled persons. The Charity is based in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, and all beneficiaries of the Charity, even if overseas, have local connections or interests.

The object of the charity is to relieve poverty or financial hardship of poor brides and bride grooms living anywhere in the world by making grants of money towards the costs of their wedding expenses or by paying for items, services and/or facilities.The trustees confirm that they have referred to the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the charity's aims

Spencer West Foundation makes grants to charities and causes nominated to it by people who work at any of the offices of international law firm Spencer West. Spencer West colleagues are required to have an established connection with the charity or cause they nominate, which connection helps ensure the grant is spent for the purpose for which it was provided.
