The charitable purposes of the U3A are to advance education of people not in full time gainful employment.We have monthly meetings with interesting speakers. We organise trips out to various places. Lost Cats Brighton aims to relieve the suffering & distress of cats experience by rescuing abandoned, unwanted, mistreated, injured & homeless cats & kittens, providing veterinary care, food, accommodation as necessary, but with the ultimate aim of rehoming healthy animals whenever possible. Run by a board of volunteer trustees, who oversee a variety of projects run by individual groups.HCO tries to serve the interests of the community by helping to provide recreational and leisure time activities, improving the environment, enabling social events, and creating opportunities for residents.

The object of the charity for the public benefit is the advancement of the Christian religion through the provision of retreat spaces to be used by those in leadership roles in the Church of England, and other churches in communion with it, to promote spiritual growth, support healthy marriages and family relationships, restore mental health and promote wellbeing.
