The Howlden Trust owns Great Northern Railway Directors' Saloon No. 706E designed by E.F.Howlden. The Trust's volunteers crew the saloon and present and interpret it in its historic context to the public (usually on the Bluebell Railway, but occasionally elsewhere), and raise money to fund the vehicle's conservation and maintenance. The conservation work is also undertaken by our volunteers.

Makes grants or loans to persons resident in the parishes of Fittleworh and Stopham, Bedham in the parish of Wisborough Green, Coldwaltham and Watersfield in the parish of Coldwaltham and Egdean in the parish of Petworth who are sick, convalescent, disabled, handicapped or infirm. The Selsey U3A is self funding through membership fees. Members are encouraged/supported to set up interest groups.Monthly Meetings are held and different speakers are invited to talk about various subjects. Items of interest are discussed. A monthly Quiz is also held. A newsletter is distributed monthly to members.Events or educational visits are arranged at regular intervals.
