Charities In Wigan

Friends of Adlington Library aims to provide equipment for use by the public in the library. It provides entertaining and educational events in the library for the residents of Adlington and all the surrounding area. These events include talks, courses, evening events, and children's events. FoAL also assists the library's staff with organising and advertising their events.

The principle aim of Wigan Sea Cadets is to engage young people 10-18 through a nautical theme, based on traditions and values of the Royal Navy in extra curricular education and training. Objectively we aim to give young people the best possible headstart in life, laying the foundations to support young people into further education and employment.

Fundraising and providing activities for children and families

To support families living with children and young people diagnosed with special needs such as autism, sickle cell and the like.

The charity exists to provide resources for school, not supplied by the LEA. It does this by a number of fundraising activities held throughout the year. These all take place at school.

THE OBJECT OF THE ASSOCIATION (THE OBJECTS) IS TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF PUPILS IN THE SCHOOL IN PARTICULAR BY:DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THE STAFF PARENTS AND OTHERS ASSOCIATED WITH THE SCHOOL;ENGAGING IN ACTIVITIES OR PROVIDING FACILITIES OR EQUIPMENT WHICH SUPPORT THE SCHOOL AND ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUPILS.

The SCT makes grants to Registered Charities at the discretion of the Trustees.

Administration of four Almshouses in Hindley, Lancashire

The Trust makes small grants to individuals in the Anglican Diocese of Liverpool who are attending second chance learning through Further Education establishments, including ESOL programmes. Grants are for the books or equipment the individual needs for their educational courses or training programmes.

A road safety promotion organisation by delivering Advanced Riding Advice as part of the Institute of Advanced Motorists. A team of volunteer Observers offer one-to-one riding skills advice to prepare candidates for their IAM test.

A Christian Church rooted in and reaching beyond the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

The declaration of the gospel of Jesus Christ, through the giving of gifts and support for the work of the church

Scouting activities for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts

The objectives of the CIO are to preserve buildings, monuments & features of historic, architectural and cultural significance. Also to promote awareness of heritage value in order to facilitate action and sustain at risk local assets.

Grants of money, or assistance with the puchase of specialist goods / materials as appropriate, for the benefit of persons living in the Parish of Lowton who have been identified as having an urgent need of such help and where other sources of assistance have been exhausted. Each case to be judged on merit by the Charity's Board of Trustees.

FoHF are a group of parents, grandparents and carers of children who attend or who have attended the school. We deliver fundraising and other activities to support and enhance the children's experiences while pupils at the school.

To promote, develop and maintain the public's understanding and appreciation of the arts, in particular the dramatic arts.

General charitable activities

To provide income for the benefit of such orthodox preaching ministers of God's word and sacraments for the time being and from time to time should officiate and preach at and in the chapel at Hindley.

We are a School PTA and organise various fundraising events such has Christmas and summer fairs, Fathers day and mothers day events and school discos.
