Activities & Mission

We maintain and operate Claverton Pumping Station, a unique water-powered Grade I listed Georgian beam engine. The pumping station, built in 1813, was designed by John Rennie to lift water up to the Kennet and Avon Canal. Our volunteers maintain this vital part of Bath's industrial heritage, operating the pump on public open days and sharing its history.
