The object of the Bansang Hospital Appeal is to provide support to Bansang Hospital and the people of the surrounding area in The Gambia by supplying medical equipment, pharmaceuticals and other humanitarian aid. In particular the Appeal has built an 80 bed Children's Ward, a 48 bed Female Ward, upgraded staff accommodation blocks and built operating theatre suites for obstetrics and general use.

The objective is to provide intra-ocular lens surgery in the cure of cataract blindness to the poor of the Developing World, with the objective of providing the sustainable training of opthalmologists.
