The charity manages a countryside centre and tea room in an historic local barn, moved from the site of the Channel Tunnel complex, housing local historic artefacts and information. We are a Pre School set in a rural village in East Devon offering Early Learning to children aged between 18 months and 5 years of age. Beck Isle Museum cares for around 60,000 objects which are used to catalogue and preserve the history of the local market town, with particular reference to Pickering and the wider Ryedale area. Focus is placed on education through the use of objects in displays, exhibitions and events, and the museum seeks to engage schools, groups and the local community through outreach programmes.
