The Charity was formed by Sir Ronald Cohen, in memory of his father Michael Cohen. Its purpose is 'The support of Education at Exeter College (University of Oxford)'. The charity is relatively new and has been growing its capital base. However the Trustees have now agreed a formal grant distribution plan and grants are now being made on an annual basis.

Make Life Kind educates young people on how to overcome social stigmas, such as Racism, Anti-Knife Crime, Self Esteem, Mental Health, Body Positivity, Gender Identity, Online Safety , Sports & Disability. The Charity achieves this by sending Expert Speakers with lived experience, into Schools, Youth Clubs, Colleges, Universities & Sports Clubs to educate & inspire young people to positive change.

The Joseph King Trust provides support for under 25's living within the parish of Chipping Ongar & Shelley to undertake either further education or other educational activities outside the scope of normal mainstream education. Reading Street Pastors are an initiative of Ascension Trust comprising of church based, referenced, DBS checked, AT trained and uniformed individuals who patrol our town and neighbourhoods engaging with anyone who needs help by caring, listening and helping. We also have community, rail & college pastors. We also support the First Stop initative providing a safe space & first aid support.

OxPat collects money through donations, fundraising events and boxes in Oxford businesses and colleges to alleviate the needs of the homeless and vulnerably housed. Run by volunteers, all income is distributed between Oxford homeless agencies chosen annually. Individual applications are considered. Administration costs are met by specific contributions from Oxford businesses.
