The charity awards scholarships tenable at a university or other education establishment in the UK to a) Kindred of William Akroyd who died in or about 1518 and b) Persons who have attended secondary school in the County of York. Cantate was formed by Michael Kibblewhite in 1994 as a mixed voice youth choir, to provide keen young singers with high quality training in singing and performance skills.
