We are an entirely voluntary self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment providing educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment.

We interest and stimulate people who have time on their hands through retirement, unemployment or diminishing family responsibilities. We have no permanent teachers or buildings, require no academic qualifications nor do we issue diplomas or degrees. We have term-time general meetings and special-interest groups. For the general meetings we use both our own members and outside speakers.

To provide educational, recreational and leisure activities for middle aged and older people in retirement or part time occupation in the Uckfield area with the object of improving their conditions of life and in the interest of their social welfare

to provide educational opportunites for the retired and semi retired through the organisation and delivery of self help groups

an educational/interests based club for people over the age of 50 who are not in full time employment

We endeavor to provide further education on a voluntary basis for our members who are in the 'third age' and no longer in full time employment.

We hold twice monthly meetings open to all members. There are also more than 30 separate groups providing a variety of interest for members.

KEIGHLEY THIRD AGE GROUP IS PART OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE THIRD AGE A NATIONAL BODY WHICH AIMS TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR RETIRED PEOPLE TO MEET AND SHARE THEIR INTERESTS IN A VARIETY OF WAYS, EXTENDING THEIR MINDS AND UNDERSTANDING BY MUTUAL HELP AND STIMULATION.

Usk U3A provides varied opportunities for older and retired people to take part in activities - including talks and lectures, visits, book groups, bridge and other games, gardening, walking. quizzes and voluntary work - which provide continuing learning, intellectual and physical experiences, and which foster social engagement, health benefits and independence.

Branston & District U3A is a learning co-operative of older people, enabling them to share many educational, creative and leisure activities. Interest range from the physical, via the cerebral to the pleasure and leisure acitivities. It is hoped that by keeping members mentally and physically active and alert, they benefit in terms of health and welfare and maintain their independence.

The advancement of education and, in particular, the education of older people and those who are retired from full time work by all means, including associated activities conducive to learning and personal development. Specifically we hold 2 general meetings a month with a speaker, and multiple interest groups meet monthly or more often, for members from Redditch and the surrounding area.

Menbers are anyone who is retired or semi-retired. Activites are education, learning and enjoyment by means of attending specific groups of different subjects taken by members, plus listening to speakers on varied subjects and recreational activities.

Third Age Learning - general education - lectures, study groups, language classes, music apreciation, walking, nature, handicrafts, history.

Provide meeting facilities for the community including, St John Ambulance , Youth activities &U3A art group and indoor games.

The charitable purpose of the U3Ais: To advance education and in particular the education of people not in full time gainful employment who are in their third age (being the period of time after the first age of childhood dependence and the second age of full time employment and/or parental responsibility) residing in Harwich and its surrounding locality.
