LITTLEHAMPTON U3A IS PART OF THE NETWORK OF SELF HELP GROUPS WHICH FORM THE U3A AND PROMOTE LIFE-LONG LEARNING AND LEISURE ACTIVITIES FOR OLDER PEOPLE NO LONGER IN FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT

Hinckley u3a is a learning organisation for retired and semi-retired people and provides facilities for leisure time enabling members to share educational and creative activities. Study and activity groups enable members to share their skills and interests for their mutual benefit.

TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND IN PARTICULAR THE EDUCATION OF PEOPLE NOT IN FULL TIME GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT WHO ARE IN THEIR THIRD AGE (BEING THE PERIOD OF TIME AFTER THE FIRST AGE OF CHILDHOOD INDEPENDENCE AND THE SECOND AGE OF FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT AND/OR PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY) RESIDING IN ST.AUSTELL AND ITS SURROUNDING LOCALITY.

To advance the education of the public and in particular the education of older people no longer in gainful employment in Potters Bar and its surrounding locality.The provision of facilities for leisure time andrecreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the above persons in the interests of their social welfare.

The advancement of education - and, in particular, the education of older people and those who are retired from full time work - by all means, including associated activities conducive to learning and personal development.

Membership has increased during the past year and the number of active groups has also grown. We continue, despite the restrictions of COVID concerns, with our aim of increasing the learning and leisure activities of the retired members of our area and also to offer opportunities for sharing the various skills of our members.

Educational Activities for older people

Provides retired and semi-retired people the opportunity to come together and learn together, not for qualifications but for its own reward: the sheer joy of discovery!Our interest groups include:- Antiques, Appreciation of Art, Book Club, Bridge, Computing, Crafts Group, Digital Photography, French, Italian, Local History, Singing for Fun, Music Appreciation and Walking.

U3A provides Public Benefit by facilitating continuing education and social welfare to older people no longer in full-time employment. This is achieved by forming small, interactive groups of people with common or related interests who meet in each others homes, by organising general, monthly meetings with expert presenters on a wide range of subjects and by running trips to places of interest.

The Village Hall has 2 halls with modern facilities available to rent for events. activities include WI, Keep fit, Flower Club, Scottish Dancing, Mini Athletics, Hartbeeps, Tiny Talk, Yoga, Box n Burn, U3A . It is also the meeting point for High Lane Residents' Association, High Lane Village Forum & High Lane Allotments.

Bramhall U3A is a learning cooperative established under the umbrella of the Third Age Trust and draws upon the knowledge, experience and skills of its own members to organise and provide interest groups. Members may attend monthly meetings or participate in over 50 Interest Groups covering a range of interests.

The advancement of education for retired and semi-retired people by all means, including associated activities conducive to learning and personal development in Gravesend, Northfleet and the surrounding localities.

Shrewsbury U3A has self organised interest groups for people not in full time gainful employment who are in their Third Age. This being the period of time after the second age of full time employment and/or parental responsibility.

Porthcawl U3A is a learning co-operative of older people. Its programme includes lectures, educational visits, cultural and social events and a wide range of study and interest groups.

(i) to advance the education of the public and in particular the education of older people no longer in full time gainful employment in Bushey, Hertfordshire and its surrounding locality,(ii) to provide facilities for leisure time and recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the above persons in the interests of their social welfare,

The Roding Valley U3A aims to advance the education of the local public (particularly older people no longer in full-time employment) and to provide leisure time and recreational activities for all members.

CEDU3A provides monthly meetings with a speaker, social events and around 120 different subject groups for those who are retired or semi-retired to attend. The charity is a self-help organisation and all activities are lead by volunteers, with members bringing together subject groups which others are interested in attending in their own homes or other local venues.

Activities are created through the development and running of interest groups, each of which has a specific learning purpose. The range of interest groups is extensive from Geology, Naval History, Walking, Music, Boating & Sailing, Theatre, Current Affairs, Genealogy, Table Tennis, Weather Watching, Astronomy, Astro-Navigation, etc.
