SOFA PROJECT IS A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE WITH THE CHARITABLE AIMS OF SUPPORTING THE REHABILITATION OF PRISONERS THROUGH WORK OPPORTUNITIES IN THE ORGANISATION. THESE ACTIVITIES MAINLY COMPRISE THE RE-USE OF UNWANTED/DONATED FURNITURE AND DOMESTIC APPLIANCES BY REFURBISHING THEM AND SUPPLYING THEM AT LOW PRICES TO PEOPLE ON LOW INCOMES.

NewStarts has three core activities that aim to help meet the practical needs of people on low incomes who are moving into social housing following a period of homelessness or other personal trauma or financial crisis. 1.Relieving poverty by donating household furniture and food2.Reducing homelessness by assisting resettlement3.Protecting the environment by promoting furniture re-use.

The principal activity of the charity is supplying furniture and household goods to those most in need in the North East of England, in particular to people in Sunderland. WORK-LINK is a Hinckley Charity, based on the Recycling of furniture/electricals. It provides sheltered, meaningful opportunities to help unemployed individuals, who are not ready/able to embark on a more formal training/educational programme or to directly enter employment. It is an integrated scheme catering for a variety of people, many of whom have special needs, including mental ill health.

Digital Pipeline helps alleviate poverty by providing access to computer equipment for the poorest schools and projects in the UK and the developing world. As a consequence we also promote conservation, protection & improvement of the environment through the re-use of ICT equipment.

FURNITURE RECYCLING AND REUSE, VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DIFFICULTIES OR THE LONG-TERM UNEMPLOYED. OUR CHARITY DIVERTS OVER A 100 TONNES OF FURNITURE PER YEAR AWAY FROM LANDFILL AND HAS A TWO TIER PRICING SYSTEM, HEAVILY DISCOUNTED FOR THOSE IN RECEIPT OF BENEFITS.

IPC promotes the social and economic inclusion of refugees, asylum seekers and marginalised communities in the North East of England. Activities include ESOL, the Resettlement Programme for Overseas Doctors, Community Football, Capacity Building, Healthy Eating and Life-style, Gardening project, Cycling Recycling, Martial Arts, Developing and Supporting Volunteers in Sport, Community Champions.

There are millions of bikes lying rusting in garages or being thrown away in the UK. Meanwhile, in the Africa, a 4-hour daily walk is common (water, school, farm, market). Re~Cycle collects second hand bikes & parts & ships them to Africa, where partners teach local people how to repair & maintain them, helping them to improve their own lives in a sustainable manner.

The Reuse Network is the umbrella group for organisations involved in the relief of poverty through the re-use of household items. We work to increase goods available, raise the number of beneficiaries and support organisations to manage and develop. We lobby to ensure that legislation and funding benefits the sector.

Our object is to advance education of children up to age 14 by supplying books to those that would not otherwise be able to afford them, and by creating sustainable reading communities amongst targeted groups through the provision of regular inclusive book gifting events. Also to advance public education about environmental matters related to re-use & recycling of pre-loved children's books.

Hounslow Community Transport provides the following services:- A fleet of minibuses with wheelchair access for hire by not-for-profit organisations- Hounslow Furniture Recycling Project which collects donated furniture and houshold appliances that are then sold at low prices to people in need- The Shopmobility service based in the Blenheim Centre in Hounslow

KCU (Kettering Community Unit) is a community support charityproviding the following -Free training and education courses to support people into employment or to improve their quality of life -Furniture re-cycling, low cost household goods to those in need via our charity shops-Food bank operations to support those in food poverty Our ethos is that everyone in our community matters .

TRUP collects and redistributes a wide range of homemaking articles at a low cost in Thurrock and and surrounding area, provides training and volunteering opportunities for a wide range of people, including back to work training, individually tailored supported volunteering for clients with learning difficulties and general volunteering for people who want to be involved with a worthwhile cause.
