Besides the activities of a religious establishment, Paignton SNU Spiritualist Centre is involved with community initiatives as scheduled: 1). The Centre Hall has been used as a Polling Station for many years.2). The premises are used for Yoga, community and educational activities and social meetings open to all.3). Monies are collected for other Charities. The gardens are used by anyone.

To manage the Wychwood Wild Garden and related woodlands for the benefit of the local community, residents and visitors. To work with the community in the overall management, conservation and restoration of the Wild Garden while retaining its distinct character.

The charity seeks to advance the education and well-being of the pupils at Breakspeare School and Meadow Wood School in Hertfordshire. The pupils are 5 to 19 years old and have severe learning difficulties. The charity provides support not offered by the Education Authority, including curriculum enrichment activities, equipment, and support and information to school staff and families.

The Board of Trustees operates and manages a 10 1/2 acre recreation ground on behalf of the parish of Mary Tavy. Facilities include the Coronation Hall, playing pitches with changing rooms, a children's playground, a nature trail & allotments.
