The Parks Trust is the charity that owns much of the city's parks, lakes, woods and landscapes. This adds up to around 6,000 acres - about 25% of the new city area.

BBOWT is the only voluntary organisation concerned with all aspects of nature conservation in Berks, Bucks & Oxon. The charity's principle activity is that of the promotion for the public benefit of providing a supportive living community for adults with learning needs best met by participating in a rural environment providing purposeful activity on the farm and gardens
