MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP OF THE LIBRARY AND THE PUBLIC GARDEN / OPEN SPACE

The Olgar Trust manages a 5.5 acre woodland site near Staplecross, East Sussex.

The charity owns 45 acres of common land in the parish of Brentor, West Devon. Half the area is managed as very low input grassland. Biodiversity surveys of this lowland heath have identified sites of national significance and targeted species (including mud snails and fritillary butterflies) for management. Volunteer working parties aid with coppicing, gorse & bracken control and tree planting

Allotment Society

Provides grants to people in need according to the Trust deed.

Ownership of a small field divided into allotments let to local people for gardening.

Various social events to promote interest and support for our aims to protect Pegwell Bay and the environment from unecessary and undesirable development together with the maintenance of public open space.

To provide organised, leisure-time football activity for the young people in the community under the guidance of qualified coaches within strict child welfare guidelines. Adult helpers are given in service training to develop their skills and become qualified tutors.

Management of the Millennium Green for the benefit of village residents and others

The provision and maintenance of a War Memorial and Park in Formby.

Improving the physical conditions for thyroid cancer patients receiving treatment at Velindre hospital, Cardiff. Developing gardens outside treatment rooms to provide a pleasant outlook for patients. A mural to provide an interesting view for patients. Providing information booklets for patients. Raising funds for new projects that will benefit thyroid cancer patients specifically.

Provision of allotments to local community.

Allotments rents are collected annually and elderly residents are given sum of money at Christmas.

The object of the CIO is in the interests of conservation to develop, conserve, protect and restore natural resources, animals, insects and plant life through the provision of woodland and forests and in particular to:(1) promote, provide and enhance woodland and forests for the benefit of the public;(2) provide or help to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare and recreation

Involved in putting on public exhibitions of bonsai together with demonstrations and lectures on the history and creation of bonsai; Making accessible to the public displays of bonsai within the National Bonsai Collection situated at it's permanent site at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Edgbaston, Birmingham.Advising the public on care and maintenance of their bonsai.

Provision of allotments & letting of land.

To motivate the local community to address and remedy the problems existing in the densely populated and built up area of Walkley. To generate funds by usual methods. To devise facilities for children and the elderly, ie: a public play area incorporating gardens with communal seating facilities etc.

BrueCREW's aim is to restore the natural balance of Bruton's stretch of the river Brue as a haven for wildlife, and to promote our riverside as somewhere relaxing to spend time with nature. We will work to connect Bruton's historic town centre with footpaths upstream and downstream to enhance the river that gave Bruton its name, for the enjoyment of everyone who lives in or visits our town.
