The Charity's principal activities are to facilitate and sustain positive changes in the lives of individuals, families and communities affected by problems arising from alcohol & drug misuse, domestic viloence & related mental health concerns, by offering treatment services that are responsive high quality and provide effective & integrated interventions.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.

Main area of activity is London Borough of Newham. Current activities include: medium level support for homeless 16-25 year olds; specialised support for homeless adults with alcohol and substance issues; training for disadvantaged students; crisis support for refugees; advocacy and advice for informal carers; children and young people's work; and operating community facilities.

The London Buddhist Centre teaches meditation and Buddhism in a way that is relevant to contemporary western life. It is a non-proselytising public centre, open to all, with no expectation of Buddhist interest / involvement. The Breathing Space programme run by the Centre teaches Mindfulness Based Approaches to help prevent relapse into depression and addiction and to manage stress and anxiety.

Today we support work with 11 -25 year olds through specialist projects and programmes addressing issues that marginalise or place young people at risk, including mental health, homelessness, crime, racism, sexuality, drug & alcohol use, abuse, rural isolation and poverty.

We actively promote the prevention, recognition and treatment associated to use and misuse of substances including alcohol, drugs and gambling. WE OFFER HOUSING & SUPPORT TO HOMELESS YOUNG MEN IN STOCKTON-ON-TEES WITH VARIOUS PROBLEMS WHICH CAN INCLUDE DRUG AND ALCOHOL MISUSE. WE TRY TO HELP OUR RESIDENTS TO BECOME DRUG FREE AND LIVE INDEPENDENTLY THROUGH HELP AND SUPPORT.WE SEPARATELY OPERATE A RESIDENTIAL FAMILY ASSESSMENT CENTRE AT OUR FARM IN BISHOP AUCKLAND.

We provide education, training, volunteering and associated support for excluded adults in Greater Manchester. Our services are aimed at adults who have been through some form of resettlement process related to substance misuse, homelessness, mental illnes, or offending behaviour. We also provide resources /training for other organisations in our field. (Formerly known as MERC and NEARIS.)

WE OFFER: COUNSELLING, AFTERCARE, OUTREACH, FAMILY SERVICE, DAY PROGRAMME, ETE SKILLS, HEALTH AND WELLBEING.

Provides financial assistance to deserving veterinary surgeons, RVNs and their dependants; provides a helpline and website for veterinary surgeons, students and nurses; provides for the relief of mental and physical illness, associated with compulsive behaviour or stress or depression, which may or may not result from alcohol or drug addiction or other forms of dependence.

ASH is an organisation which provides information on all aspects of tobacco and works to advance policies and measures that will help to prevent the addiction, disease and unnecessary premature death caused by smoking.

The aims of Praxis are to promote and advance the social welfare and housing needs of people who are poor, suffering or recovering from mental health illness, alcoholism or chemical addictions, by providing advice, treatment and support through the provision of both community services and the develpoment and management of housing schemes intended to provide accommodation for homeless people.

London Friend provides a wide range of services and activities aimed at improving the health and well-being of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender community. Some of our services include one-to-one and group counselling, drug and alcohol support and coming-out and other peer support groups. We also run an LGBT community centre in Kings Cross.

We are a short to medium term homeless hostel providing support for men, aged 25-60, in Watford with complex needs; primarily homelessness, drug and alcohol issues. Family Groups Limited t/a Al-Anon Family Groups has been in operation since 1951. Al-Anon Family Groups has but one purpose: to help families of alcoholics. Al-Anon is not allied with any sect, denomination, political entity, organisation or institution; does not engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any cause. Support groups can be found throughout the UK.

Providing recovery support from substance misuse dependancies to women and accommodation whilst this support is offered. Providing support & education services to non-resident beneficiaries through a range of farm-based skills development and confidence building activities.
