The aim of our organisation is to reduce the rate of incidence caused by Cancer in Africa, through population-based screening and early detection programmes about important Cancer warning Signs and Symptoms. We simply visit rural villages in Africa educating the people about the early Signs and Symptoms of Cancer. Our team of Volunteers is a mixture of medical and non-medical professionals.

The Community Light Orchestra (CLO) provides opportunities for individuals of mixed ages and abilities to enhance their musical skills at weekly rehearsals, both of the full orchestra, the string orchestra and the wind ensemble. The orchestra gives fund raising concerts in aid of local charities (for example, the John LeVay Cancer Information Centre and SSAFA in 2014.)

Berwick & District Friends of Dementia supports persons in the district of Berwick-upon-Tweed who are diagnosed with mild to moderate dementia, and their families and carers. It does this by means of social opportunities and appropriate activities. Its main undertaking is Alz Cafe, held each Thursday in a rented premises in Berwick for social activity, and refreshments are provided.

Retrak helps street children to find long-term alternatives to life on the streets. Retrak recognises their vulnerability and disadvantage due to heath issues, particularly HIV/Aids, lack of education and opportunity to develop as children. PDDCS is the Peterborough and District Deaf Children's Society and we do what we can to provide lots of activities for children who are deaf or have hearing loss in our area (which is anywhere near Peterborough). We do lots of cool stuff for kids from babies and toddlers all the way to young adults (who do it for themselves really) and provide for parents too...

Small idependent local charity, raising money for local cancer care. Fundraising activities include dinner dances, barn dance, quiz night, bridge evening and cake/book stalls at numerous fetes.
